Ford Maverick How do you keep your Black Wheels clean? 1C7ECCA6-0D5E-4BBE-90EC-59B14799E6BD
Hello all

I was initially going to title my thread 1st world problems 🤪 but I was just wondering if anyone else is going crazy keeping these wheels looking nice. I’m a bit OCD I admit with keeping my vehicles clean, but the struggle is real with these wheels. 😕

I have black wheels on my Ranger. Just before I bead blasted and painted the wheels I did an unnecessary brake job and installed ceramic pads. Other than that, my only other piece of advice would be to wash them a lot if it bothers you.

As a matter of fact one of the first things I am doing on my Mav IF and WHEN I get it is install ceramic pads while the rotors are brand new. I hate brake dust.

Having the wheels ceramic coated is a good idea
Takes me no time to clean my bronze wheels

Ceramic coat all wheel components the shit out of them. Buy ceramic coating solution on Amazon that is marked as H9 and make sure it is with graphene. 3 full coats recommended.

I have an Infiniti which has fantastic braking but soft rotors and pads which spew brake dust. This is the best stuff I have found. Put it on cold wheels and let it work for a few minutes and the color will change to purple. The brush they sell works pretty well also. Brush it and hose it off. I have a few baked on bits it does not get but it gets about 99% of the dust.

Sonax Wheel Cleaner I got it on Amazon but there may be other vendors.

Old detailers trick that I use religiously to this day:

Save used dryer sheets. Bounce Original work best IMO.
After you wash and dry the wheels, wipe them down with the used dryer sheets (don't use new ones; used are softer and won't scratch). The anti-static stuff they use in those works great for keeping brake dust and road grime from sticking to the wheels.
