I think the "dropping sales" of small vans was largely due to manufacturers simply not making that many anymore. If you followed sites like Ford Authority who report on which vehicles have discounts each month, there were almost never any available on Transit Connects. That tells me that the...
I don't think there in an incentive to cancel unless there is a reasonable alternative, but right now there isn't. I will likely cancel in the future, but I'm waiting to see how things play out for Ford and its competitors first.
Given that I'm fine with waiting, I'm not that mad at Ford, but...
This was the main expected impetus for moving the production of the Transit Connect to the Hermisillo plant that makes the Maverick and Bronco Sport. If it was produced in a NAFTA country, it wouldn't be subject to the tax.
I own a Transit Connect and a Maverick based TC was basically my ideal vehicle. I use the Transit Connect it as my adventure/road trip vehicle and have been all over the US, often on remote dirt roads, all while hauling three people, sometimes a dog, and a whole ton of stuff for multi-week, off...
I'm not OP so I can't speak to his rational, but A/T tires are noisier on the road and detrimental to gas mileage. If the lift is mostly for driving things like rutted dirt roads, you don't really need them. I've put probably thousands of dirt road miles on all-season tires and some of them are...
It's a competitor for me because I will buy one or the other. I have deposits on both and could afford either if I chose. I of course prefer to pay less rather than more, but I keep my cars for a long time, so if one is a notably better fit, I'll pay for it. When we first reserved the Rivian...
I mean, sure? The whole point of the thread was to create your own list.
That post gives my own list from almost two years ago (5 months before the Maverick was even officially announced). Once the Santa Cruz was released, it was off my list for the reason I mentioned - it's bed was just a bit...
Last year I would have chosen Velocity Blue, but they dropped it this year. I ended up choosing white (as I live in the desert so the dark colors were out for heat/dust reasons).
When I was ordering, they told me that the trailer hitch might cause a delay, but CoPilot 360 was also on the list...
This is me, save I added CoPilot 360, both for the blindspot monitors and for the upgrade to power mirrors.
To me, the appeal of the XLT on the hybrid lessened this year with more things being broken out of packages and cruise control being included on the XL. I'd have liked the orange color...
I don't understand this. "Rock Crawl" mode on the Bronco Sport is as follows:
All of those changes can benefit lots of types of off road driving short of Moab style rock crawling. Plus, the mode/parts are literally coming from a unibody vehicle (the Bronco Sport), so why would you assume that...
I find it amusing that when EVs start to be discussed, half of the Maverick forum posters start moving toward the fringe use cases as counterexamples as to why it won't work (e.g. "Oh yeah, but what if I need to flee my apartment from a hurricane towing my 30 foot Airstream on my 400 mile...
I was one of the people who didn't place an order initially because I wanted to wait for an AWD hybrid.
I do think it's very possible that it's an upgraded EB off road package, but part of the reason that the hybrid is currently limited to 2000 lbs is that a heavy trailer moves the weight off...
I'm not sure people actually said this. People seemed pretty sure that the Maverick would be a hit and adopted by a lot of fleets (auto parts stores, Terminix, etc.).
I just did a forum search and looked at all of oldest mentions of "fleet" and none of them were questioning whether fleets...
This is me. If they had debuted an AWD hybrid, I'd have ordered right away. I don't even need that much lift (though wouldn't mind an inch), but I do what option to fit it with the underbody protection that comes with the FX4 (and maybe another plate or two).
I saw the video (or at least a similar one) and agree that overall it looks good. The big thing for me was that I would like a bit more capability in the hybrid model. That's what I was really waiting to see if would eventually be released.
More capability in the turbo would also potentially...
The Bronco Sport's twin-clutch rear drive is a direction I'd be excited for. Plus maybe one inch of ride height.
Or alternatively, you can just give me the 1 extra inch on the hybrid and give it the skid plates from the FX4 package. AWD is nice, but I really want the protection.
I live in the...
There was substantial speculation that the Maverick's upgrade off road package would be named the Rattler, based on Ford trademark filings. Ford just announced, however, that the Rattler name will be used on the F150 - to be released tomorrow.
So what will the upgrade from the FX4 package be...
