August 21, 2017 there was a total solar eclipse in my area. It's not that impressive with the naked eye. I stand by my opposition to traveling 10+ hours to see one in person.More like four and a half minutes tops for this one. And if you’ve never seen a total eclipse, I can understand your reluctance. But believe me, a total eclipse is the most awesome natural event you’ll ever have the chance to witness, by far. Unless you count the ones that might also kill you.![]()

Heh, for me it’ll be more like 60 hours of driving, round trip. And sleeping in a roof-top tent in dispersed campgrounds both coming and going. Absolutely worth it. No question about it. None whatsoever.I stand by my opposition to traveling 10+ hours to see one in person.![]()
It's a sign, to make fire & smoke, eat meats, and otherwise consume mass quantities. To appease the sun swallower, of course.plan on sacrificing a pork butt to the BBQ gods
