August 21, 2017 there was a total solar eclipse in my area. It's not that impressive with the naked eye. I stand by my opposition to traveling 10+ hours to see one in person.More like four and a half minutes tops for this one. And if you’ve never seen a total eclipse, I can understand your reluctance. But believe me, a total eclipse is the most awesome natural event you’ll ever have the chance to witness, by far. Unless you count the ones that might also kill you.

Heh, for me it’ll be more like 60 hours of driving, round trip. And sleeping in a roof-top tent in dispersed campgrounds both coming and going. Absolutely worth it. No question about it. None whatsoever.I stand by my opposition to traveling 10+ hours to see one in person.
