The lack of a bed cover in an unpainted bed alone is a dead giveaway you have stuff in the truck. You should cancel the order for those springs and get a hard tonneau cover ASAP in my opinion. I think your at risk for more broken windows in the future until you do.

Also, if it was me, I’d rather park in that fast food main lot than where your truck is sitting and risk door dings. That fence area seems like a great place to hide and probably why the person was unnoticed breaking 3 windows, especially the two on the passenger side. Or somewhere else in front of a camera, might be worth asking the business owners there, worst they can say is no. Just speculation based on pictures so I don’t know what the parking situation is there but I’d probably wouldn’t park there by that fence if I could avoid it.

Good luck, this sucks but it could be always worse and I’ve been here many times myself. Be safe man!
The lowering springs are paid for and it’s too late to cancel the order but I am either going to wait to put them on or sell em.

I'm a local and they are doing the opposite of this. They are not actively policing vagrancy and minor crimes.

This is a busy area with a mix of high cost older homes then across the street you have very low cost older homes. I used to live a block from where this pic was taken and I would never leave anything in plain sight parked there. It's not like a ghetto in a major metropolis, you aren't going to get mugged behind Andy's Frozen Custard, but there's plenty of traffic and plenty of people who would break in.
I work at Andy’s and the deli next door had one of their cooks had their truck broken into as well a few months back during a lunch rush so I should have known better.
I still have my Mav and it’s getting fixed so it’s best to use this a learning experience and not park out there like I used to. I have already instructed employees to park next to building when approaching close so if you stop by and there is limited parking at night I do apologize in advance.

They probably wouldn't have broken in if there was nothing they could see, but now that they've had success they could do it again even if you don't have anything in plain sight. So it's a good idea to park up front when you can. The deli is busy mid day so I bet you and some employees will still have to park back there now and then. Just don't leave anything out.

Usually a car alarm is low value but if you're fairly close and would hear it you can react. But it's better to not be a target at all.

BTW you mentioned grainy footage. I'm a physical security specialist with C&C Group. I can come by and give you some ideas. Good lighting helps with both deterrence and identification.

you are correct. What footage I got from the deli, I could see them looking into my Maverick and come back with a vehicle to throw stuff into.
I am waiting to see what my district manager can pull up on our cameras til then this is what I have so far.

Ford Maverick What are the odds I can get 3 replacement windows?? Maverick broken into! C724B4CE-3DAB-4AD5-9D38-3AC35EF79541

Sharia law would also work: Theft (stealing in secret) is punished by the amputation of the offender's right hand, and armed or highway robbery may be punished by execution, crucifixion, or amputation of hands and feet from opposite sides of the body, depending on the severity of the offense.
You know...I was thinking the same exact thing!

Alright, how about people who punch other people for little/no reason? Are they scummy, or worthless with no "social value" (maybe you meant societal value?)? How about someone who cheats on their spouse, scummy or not?
At face value... Yes, scum. I mean, the punchy person without a doubt. Cheater may have more of a story to tell

You think someone who commits a property crime like theft is worse than someone who assaults someone for no reason?

Where is this? I mean, I know you said everywhere, but I would love to hear specifically. I work as an attorney in a large metropolitan area in the US and I know we are still prosecuting thefts here.
Start with the summer of love destruction. Very few prosecutions (they were peaceful protests). Places pushing no bail, surely you are aware of that. Target department stores had $400,000,000 in theft last year. Who decided if you stole less than $1000 in merch it is a misdemeanor or not worth prosecuting? Oh wait, you are being facetious.

Couple months ago I had my SUV broken into. Stoke my briefcase. It was at lunch in Houston. They got me, my Boss, a client, and about 4 other cars. Just broke one window one each, grabbed what was on the seat, hit the next. Had a car waiting for them to jump into. Car alarm does nothing for this. Keep things out of sight is the answer.

Auto Insurance would have paid, but it wasn't more than the $500 deductible. I do have coverage for up to $250 of items in my insurance with no deductible. Hardly dented what was taken but it was something. Unfortunately wasn't enough to be worth taking to my Homeowners insurance since that's a $1k deductible.

In Montana, Rip would take them to the train station.

Where are they not prosecuting misdemeanor thefts?
California. Prop 47. Felony theft reduced to misdemeanor and Increased misdemeanor theft value from $450 to $950 to account for inflation. Nice of them to acknowledge inflation for the benefit of the criminals. Philadelphia - Carjacking during Covid was to be ignored per the mayor............

I'd rather get back to talk about when the Mavericks will get built.

Politics is a bannable offense but it comes up literally all the time, anyway.
