Are the windows tinted at the factory?

Almost hesitant to ask since there seem to be several grumpy people on here that just want to bash you for your questions.

Since I’m in Florida tinted windows are pretty necessary and I was wondering if there was any kind of tint on these windows? I guess I can always ask the dealer to do it as part of the premium they’re charging.

For southern locations I’ll suggest doing what I did on my f150
It had privacy glass in all the back windows so all I really NEEDED to do was the front door glass but I wanted ceramic film all around (including windshield)

So we did 35% on the front doors to match the privacy glass then added 70% (basically clear) over all the rear windows and windshield
It did an awesome job of blocking the heat and since it reflects 90+% of UV light it would have protected the interior from fading over time

It costs more of course but it’s well worth it in my opinion

Thank you! That was some good information! I had not heard of ceramic film before but will start looking into that. My old truck has the old type window film with bubbles which I need to remove.

This thread popped up as similar to the post by the poor guy that had three windows broken out by thieves. So I felt bound to add this. The factory PRIVACY glass has no tint. Think of it as a one way mirror without the reflective backing. It only absorbs visual light entering the glass from the interior direction. It lets almost all visible and invisible light pass through from the exterior direction. That is why you cannot see through it to the inside and appears to be obscure as the absence of all visible light will appear to be black. If you sit inside and look outside the vision will appear almost identical through the front side window as the rear side window. So the front side window if tinted at all is only tinted to match the rear privacy glass. Bottom line is the ceramic tint on all sides and rear windows is well worth the $$ and at least in Texas will remove the necessity of opening all windows and sun roof for 5 minutes during summer months when parked outside.

Rear windows are tinted, Front were not on my Lariat (not sure if it was part of a package) Had the front door windows tinted as dark as the state allows. (I'm also in Florida)
