Forgive my ignorance on this. I have done some research and viewed the owners manual but this void space still has me questioning things. In the pictures below on the drivers side near the battery you'll see 2 lines that look to be just cut off and seem like they "should" be attached to something. I have a 2025 2.0 - not a hybrid. The thing that caused the worry for me to check under the hood is the gas mileage I am currently at (18.3mpg) when I picked it up the mileage was at 18 and it had 15.2mpg so it is slowly rising. Currently it's only at 380 miles. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated and again apologies for the ignorance on my part as I unfortunately am not into engines.

That's for attaching the optional flux capacitor. 😎

Flux Capacitor:
Acrylic rods and spheres were shaped and glued together to replicate the trinity of glass tubes, 3/4″ plywood cut by a hole saw mimicked the solenoids, steel rods were sanded down for the trio of points in the centre of the device and the spark plug wires and banana connectors aren't functional, but complete the look. :giggle:

Seriously... I have a 2022, I will have to look into this... and see what "I" have..

When I picked up my 24 Lariat Eco boost it had 18 miles on the odometer. The gas mileage was awful for about the first 500 miles. I drive off highway for about 98% of the time and get 24.8 MPG.

Yeah I used to back in the day,
But no more do I go poking around under the hood.
As long as I'm Under my 100,000 mile warranty Under the hood Is Ford's business.
All I go in there for Is my weekly Engine oil and washer fluid check.

I know I don't have to check the oil as the system will watch that for me but I can't help it.

The owners manual says you won't get accurate range or fuel economy numbers for the first few fill ups, it takes time for the computer to adjust to your driving style.

What a piss-poor design. All those fittings, clamps, & brackets for a couple stupid vents. Didn't they ever see the vents used about 60-70 yeras ago? They still use these on axles today.

Thanks. I read that just now. I must have skipped it somehow.
