I prefer a good professional ceramic job. Then you don't have to wax it, ever. Just rinse off and dry.
I would like to see a 5-10 year old ceramic job.
EDIT: Daily driver
If they still look good after that length of time I will switch.

This is 1 month short of 5 years on my Mustang. Water still 100% beads.

That looks pretty good.
How many miles has it been driven since the application?

I assume that beast isn’t a daily driver
Has it been driven in occasional inclement weather year round? Probably not.

I should have been more specific: 5-10 years, daily driven.

Not knocking your ceramic coating, I just want to see a car that’s been exposed daily to the wear and tear of day in, day out usage.
Your super Stang doesn’t look like that type of car. Is that the car youve driven everyday the last 5 years?

I co-sign this. Did mine Monday. Not sure where you got 9-12 months from though. They advertise 7+ years. While I do think think that's super realistic I hope to get 3-4 years at least. https://www.amazon.com/Adams-Graphe...8DHRPTZ1&psc=1&ref_=pd_basp_bia_rpt_ba_s_1_sc
you got the more advanced ceramic probably. If you follow the link in my post, I got the spray ceramic on, which is good for 12 to 18 months. But in southwestern PA they coat the roads in salt and ash anytime it dips below freezing and that is havoc on the ceramic coating. It’s still works better than any other polish I’ve tried.

Wax - Zymol a couple times a year. And if I need to "attack" a bug or something that won't wash off, I use Zymol to dissolve it. Except tar or grease, I use WD 40 on a microfiber towel to dissolve it, then coat the area with Zymol. If I am in a hurry after washing, I use Meguair's spray detailer to give extra shine. I use a water-based tire shine, not solvent based which causes the rubber to deteriorate. I coat the outside of the glass with Rain-X glass protector every so often. I wear disposable latex gloves as all the above have chemicals that are readily absorbed through the skin and into your body. Fun fact: skin is the largest organ in your body.

We've had our truck almost a week. Dealer prepped it very nice. They probably waxed it. The last time I bought a car (~25 years ago) I tried to keep the paint in good shape by giving it an occasional paste wax job. I went to auto zone a couple days ago and looked at the wax area. There must be a hundred products. I asked a staff person which are the best and he had no clue. I don't want to get into something that is an abrasive application. At the same time I don't know what wax products to move to or avoid. Any experience on this?
Many thanks, Donald
Here’s what I use. Works great been using it for 8 years

C ollonite 845 Insulator Wax. First came across this product years ago listed in the job specification book on a high voltage project for the US government. Yeah, nuff said right there. It was an outdated specification that is no longer done on HV insulators and terminations, but it still works great on vehicles.

C ollonite Insulator Wax #845. I love it as it applies and buffs off easy peasy for an old timer.

What he linked is the actual ceramic that requires much more careful prep and application than the spray. Very different product from the spray.

I'm ok with re-doing the spray two or three times a year, but I also noticed that the more you apply it, the better it looks and works. I guess it builds up over time. Excellent product.

Would any of these help with salt? I live in a place that uses a sand/ salt mixture for traction in winter which will be from late october to mid may.

I was pondering rust check or "groil" but that eventually will wash off.

Meguiar's Deep Crystal Carnauba but most times though it's just the Meguiar's Quick Wax.

Why? It's cheap lol.
