Recommendations for what I should use on my XLT, any special considerations with the black finish? I have not used a wax or coating on it yet, attached picture was just after a hand wash.

I am also looking for a "new age wax". I am considering Mother's 1-step clay bar ceramic product for use on Area 51 paint. Has anyone tried this one or compared it to other easy on products?
BTW are recommendations different for paints like Area 51 as compared to the metallic paints with a clear coat?
Same question exactly...

My 2 cents is IF you use a good 5 yr. ceramic liquid, do it yourself. This can be done for under $200 and does provide a nice shine and easy to clean. Mine has only been on 6 months but did come with a spray for after car washes. Have not used it yet and will wait a few more months before trying it. Don't think it's worth spending $800 to have it done and not sure about a $300 for a spay on ceramic detailing. For the $800 would have had a very good film professionally applied to the front and fenders. But hey, that's a lot of money to spend to make it look pretty. My feeling if it ever got marked, dinged, scratched up that badly, would have the truck repainted. This is just my feelings and everyone's differ.
Not worth the $$$, time, and fact that it does not prevent scratches, dings/dents, rocks on highway…

a good was job with top quality product and good equipment, both hand and electric, does the best job.

Here is turtle wax ceramic graphene on Area 51. Use a good clay mit or clay microfiber, fine. First time use an iron eliminator product and for me I spray this wax on clean wet car and dry with a wet fluffy microfiber. I’ve used it for a couple years on several cars. It is diy and very forgiving. With Wheels use separate small piece of clay and separate microfiber, then throw away. Don’t mix wheel and paint stuff

Just as with your comment in the other Ceramic Coating thread, wrong again.

High quality CC makes zero claims to prevent dings, dents, rock chips, etc., that’s not it’s purpose. Only quality PPF will help there as it’s what PPF is designed for.....
