I've noticed lately that my Maverick loves to collect water on the top of the passenger rear door seal in particular after a hard rain and when I open the door, water pools into the cubby hole right beneath the seat. It also seems to collect on the door jamb and onto the passenger rear floor mat, which thankfully is rubber and not cloth. I will say that my truck is parked on an incline with it tilted towards the left.

What I think is happening is that water is collecting on the top of the door seal and rolling towards the left side caused by the incline and into the interior as oppose to running off oppositely with it parked on flat level ground. I know there's no water leak because there's no staining on the headliner. There's no water running down the inside of the window. There's no gaps between the seal meets the headliner. And it doesn't smell musty inside. My whole point is that I feel like the doors on both the Maverick and Bronco Sport have a major design flaw that allows too much water to drip inside the car. I'm always having to wipe down the interior trim and seats when opening the door after some rain. Has anyone else experienced this?
Same here . Noticed water dripping from the top of rear doors, onto the mat and edge of rear seat when opening. Told my wife it looks like a bad design at the time. Built a carport since and keep a couple of small towels handy if I ever have to open the rear doors after a rain away from home.

I've noticed it also. Open the rear doors after a rain and water drops onto the door sill. Not sure what it would be like being a passenger trying to get out. I've noticed it from the outside.

You're right. I didn't read it closely enough. Water does pool at the top of the truck.
I agree. However, I still take exception to tour hyperbole of a "major design flaw." It isn't.

The insides of the doors and the tailgate collect water. Every car & truck I've ever owned has done this. When the water doesn't drain when you open/close doors is when you do have a problem (drain holes at bottom are clogged).

As to the OP's problem, I don't know why that is happening, but I think the parking on an incline is the most obvious answer, assuming all your weatherstriping is intact..
No. OP is correct. Mine does the same thing. No intrusion until you open the door. Then the water that has pooled in the weather strip runs all over the plastic trim just inboard of the door threshold. I just chalked it up to an entry level truck and wipe it off.

Is there a tsb or other action to fix this water-collecting problem with my doors, or do I just setup an appt. with my dealer?

Neither, it's a design issue and I don't really see any way it can be corrected. I guess Ford could probably find some kind of fix but I highly doubt they'll put in the time or effort. It will probably be addressed for the second gen Maverick when it's released in a few years.

It seems that when I tug gently at the weatherstrip at the doors bottom edge that water is released, as if the weatherstrip tits that plug into the metal frame edge are released just a bit, allowing water to exit via the weatherstrip's mounting holes. Maybe a modification, such as sticking a skinny coffee stirrer/straw or WD-40 straw inbetween the hole and the rubber tit that presses into the hole, sort of like a stent/drain after surgery? I'm gonna try that and report back on my engineering efforts. Anybody have other thoughts? I don't dare drill a drain hole lest it become the starting point for a door rusting out, as that wouldn't likely be covered by the rust through warranty.

Yes. I live in Florida. It's rainy season. After a rain, when I open the door, rain water falls down into the interior of the car.

Wait until you peel back the molding around the doors.

Terrible design.

Not the inside one, the one above the window that goes all the way around the doors. It's U shaped and wraps around but collects water and debris.

Other than the water splashing in when I open the doors on my 2024 Hybrid Laredo, it also retains some water at the bottoms of the front and rear doors. Maybe it's contained in the seals. If I push in and up on the bottom seals, a couple tablespoons or more of water runs out after a heavy rain. I didn't notice water splashing into the interior on my 2016 Ford Flex when opening the door. but I need to have a rag handy for this Maverick.

I'm the weirdo at the public wash that looks like I'm airing out my vehicle by moving the doors back and forth constantly, jiggling them, then closing them and lifting up on the side mirrors to get the drying towel between the plastic there... and so on and so forth. So much water retention. If I don't do this stuff by the time I get home I have streaks that I have to wipe down again. Usually doesn't bother me but if my goal is to dry the vehicle, then I don't want streaks.

It's pretty bad on the beds plastics too. Lots of water retention under that stuff. The portion of the headlights that crosses the grille to the other headlights also retains a ton of water and so does my hood, which I also lift up and shake around violently as I'm drying.

Basically if I could put the truck on a vibrating air dryer, that would be great.
