Ford has once again partnered with Survey Savvy to conduct ownership/demographic surveys for buyers of the Maverick. They have done this in the past with other vehicles. The pitch is that you complete a ~30 minute survey and Survey Savvy pays you $15-$150, depending on which vehicle you purchased.

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS SURVEY!

Anyone who has worked in the mental health field will immediately recognize the questions for what they are and for how incredibly invasive they really are. There are questions asked that I wouldn't expect to be asked by anyone but a (mental) health care professional, in a medical setting, and during diagnosis/screening. It wasn't just one or two questions, either, many of the questions were a derivative of mental health screening questions used in the screening for self harm, depression, anxiety, and others. Some of the questions themselves only slightly modified from the standard questions you would see asked in a medical setting.

No matter....

None of the information they are gathering would be covered by any real privacy laws. Yet, I would comfortably wager that you could make a medically accurate "diagnosis" for several mental health conditions based just off the information from this survey.

Do not volunteer, sell, or give, this kind of information to anyone! Your privacy and wellbeing are worth more than that.

I got this email this afternoon...........actually reported it as a "phish alert" at work........due to the title saying $20 and the email body saying $50 for completing the survey. Had no idea Ford had sent it out........

Can you give some examples?
I can!

One grouping asks specifically about being happy with life. If your family makes you happy. If you are happy when with others. If you would be happier alone. If you are willing to "sacrifice" time with family to get ahead. The available answers being on a sliding scale from, effectively, "No I am not happy/They do not make me happy" to "Happy."

Other question(s) are about risk taking and how it relates to making things more "exciting". This line of questioning is very important when it comes to Bi-polar patients. As manic states can lead to extreme periods of risk taking. Be it physical risks, emotional risks, or financial risks. It is an incredibly vulnerable period of time for a patient.

One question asks about trying to "create order and structure" in life. A common struggle/theme in mental health.

With others asking about your perceived self-worth and your desire to be seen as worthy by others. A line of questioning that generally goes into self-harm risk assessment. As people who view themselves as less than worthy, or otherwise worthless, are at a much higher risk of harm.

This was all page one of the actual survey after the initial 5 or 6 qualifying questions.

It didn't get any better as it went on.

They could find a wealth of mental health indicators on this forum for free.
People on here generally aren't volunteering the kind of information the survey is asking. As you can see from the above reply of mine.

Thank you for the heads up. I’ve heard that Ford often sends out a second survey after the post purchase survey. It asks about what improvements owners would like to see in future Mavericks. But anything from Survey Savvy will go straight to the spam bin.

Funny you ask....

They asked about impulse control and the inability to save, instead feeling the urge to spend. Needing to have the latest and greatest even if at extra financial costs.

As I was going through the survey it wasn't hard to run right down the patient health and anxiety screening questionnaire.

So what you are suggesting is that the surveyors want to establish the mental health and competency of those responding to the survey?

.

Medical information that you share voluntarily outside of a medical setting is not protected by HIPAA. It is among the most personal, valuable, and profitable of personal information that surveillance capitalism desires.

What’s the chances I just pencil whip this survey with the most random answers and say gimme my $50?
