General rule of thumb with any sort of invasive questioning is: The less they know, the better.

Just because it got sent to your email doesn't mean the one you are replying to won't send/sell the confirmation of your email account actually being used by someone as a way to make a profit off more spam/pushing attacks. That's how phishing and spam work. They are testing the water with their toes, you reply, they jump in with the rest of the gang that shows up to the pool party.
I have no doubt they’ll sell lists

Interesting- those type of questions are very much meant to "get in the head" of the consumer to figure out how to do successful marketing etc...

I believe intent means a lot- and I'm sure Ford doesn't "intend" to tip police off if someone is unstable or report anyone to their employer that they may be depressed.

BUT in this day and age information can be used in lots of different ways, and it's crazy how even organizations we trust may get information stolen. And how long do they keep the info? How well is the info associated to our Private Identifying Information (PII)?
