I think a big part of the problem is just the nature of ordering from a dealer in greater L.A. I count 220 other 2023 Mavericks awaiting scheduling at Villa Ford. That is a huge amount of units to turn over.

Can you share your order code? I wonder if you are actually Priority 12.

Did you make "an informed choice" by asking the dealer how many Maverick orders they had in front of YOU when you placed your order?
:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Most of them will not tell you how many orders they have or how many allocations they are expecting.
And if they do tell you something, do you really think you can trust them?

Ford does not provide nor require their dealer to provide this info.

I am also guilty of being an ignorant customer that had been watching the Maverick very closely when Ford announced the vehicle. I had no idea that we needed to be ready to order on the first day and waited until October to drive the first Maverick demo our dealership received for a test drive to ensure it would work for my wife, since we would share the vehicle and was her choice.

When we placed the order in Oct 2021, we asked how long to reasonably expect the wait would be until delivery. We were told due to the waits they saw for the Bronco, it would be 6 months by the manager and a year by the salesperson. I knew that we had to "pack our patience" for this vehicle and it was all good at the beginning. Checked back at 6 months and was told that Ford had changed their policy and now they would pick from the order queue in FIFO (First In-First Out) fashion, this was the first time that I had heard they had not been using a queue to pick orders. At that point, I found this forum and was educated that I was not alone and thanks to the fordvideoguy began to understand why.

Due to my foolish and ignorant thinking, I believed that Ford still used the FIFO queue and I would still get my order in a reasonable timeframe when we rolled over the order to 2023. My dealer told me he thought we were a week shy from being selected when the last orders were selected for MY22 build. Then I later come to understand that Ford ceased using a FIFO queue to select orders for scheduling this model year. Next Ford canceled MY22 hybrid VINs and pushed 8 orders back on the MY23 queue at our dealership a priority 2. We were set back in the line months.

Unfortunately, everything the dealership now says appears dubious because they really do not know what is going on and cannot tell me how Ford deems to utilize their allocations and/or if they will select my order to be scheduled before their allocations run out. While folks with new MY23 Hybrid orders (not rollover) down the road are having their trucks built and delivered.

My sin was picking a dealership that took a number of MY22 orders and has a smaller allocation allotment.

The fordvideoguy says they still have 18 rollover orders (including priority 10's) that have still not been scheduled (assigned a VIN). So, we are certainly not alone and all I can do at this point is hope and pray that my dealership's allocations are great enough to grace us to hit the Ford selection lottery.

It would be a laudable act if Ford could just commit themselves to build the remaining MY23 orders that have a private offer. Not just orders at dealerships that may have enough allocations.

Because each 1 in front of you takes an allocation before they get to yours.
I understand. But at this point....what does it matter?

I am where I am....... and at the complete mercy of Ford's lotto-ball selection system

Oh, wow.

You can see Villa Ford has 220 Maverick orders?

Could you please post a screenshot of this?

Go ask your dealer how many hybrids are in front of you in their line. It will be a lot more informative and helpful than weeping and whining on here.

I kind of get that, and agree to some extent.

But the question "how many hybrids are in front of me" is not the same as "how many orders do you have" or "what is you allocation".

It's a fair question that the OP (for some reason) has never asked.

Ford would not need to provide the information.

I contend you need both.

I ordered last year from a small local dealer. They only had 7 total Maverick 2022 orders. I was 4th in line, but it never got built, never even got scheduled. I only found this out from someone that works at another Ford dealership, not mine. So now I'm back playing the Ford lottery again for 23, with lots of new orders from other dealers ahead of me.

Just out of curiosity .... how will knowing how many are "ahead" of me be "helpful"?

Ford said last year for a brief moment that they would go FIFO with Maverick....that was a LIE.

There have been COUNTLESS examples of Priority 19 people being selected for production WAAAY before similar Priority 10 orders.

There have also been COUNTLESS examples of "new" 9/2022 orders being selected and built ahead of identical 2021 orders

So...how exactly is knowing where I am in line "helpful"????

This stuff really is not THAT hard for any average adult to understand.

High school must have been the worst 7 years of your life.
