My 2023 XLT hybrid was built in March. After multiple delays and getting nowhere with customer service or my dealership, I found out that my order had been damaged somehow during transport from the factory to the shipping location. My Maverick was sent back to the factory for repair. I received an email from my dealership yesterday, informing me that my order and Vin had been scraped. Fords solution, was to "put my 2024 order at the front of the line."
I only put a 2024 order in because my 2023 had not arrived and I want to ensure that I was in line again. Unfortunately, with pricing increases, I ordered a XL trim instead of the XLT that I really wanted. Am I wrong in feeling like price protection and a upgrade in trim to XLT should be the minimum that Ford does for me? I'd call customer service, but they have historically been less than helpful.

Well, the only thing that can help you is Ford. So contacting them should be your first thing.

What does your DEALER have to say. It is usually the dealer who has to bail out the mother company, as THEY are the ones who have to deal with the customer and want the customer to come back, and not leave with a bad taste in his/her mouth. FWIW, good luck.

I don’t understand how people are not getting price protection. I ordered my 2022 XLT in June of 2021. I didn’t receive it until December 2022. By that time the 2023 order banks were going and prices had increased across the board. My dealership ensured I was price protected for not only the base price but the Lux package, moonroof, and rear window.

I not sure what to tell you other than maybe message Tim (fordvideoguy) to get his thoughts for this situation.
Other than that, based on this link, the new MY24 order you placed for a XL Hybrid is the least produced trim percentage by ford in addition to normally being constrained. Are you sure you want to go XL?

I only went XL because of the price increase, had my 2023 showed up like it was supposed to, I would have dropped the 2024 order altogether.

Are you expecting a free upgrade to XLT? Not reasonable.

Replace the damaged 23 with as close to same equipment 24 XLT and price protection is fair.

Your 2024 XL order is unrelated to the 23 XLT order. It was not a carryover with price protection. If you did not want a 2024 XL then why order it?

I think Ford would give you price protection on your MY24 equivalent to your MY23 they damaged, so you should be close to a wash price wise MY23 XLT to MY 24 XLT. Have your dealer contact their Ford rep to work this out and change your XL to XLT equipped just like your MY23 order Ford destroyed

Are you sure the vehicle was actually damaged during transport?

While it does happen vehicles aren't usually sent back to the factory for repair. If the damage is minor it is usually repaired at the dealer before being sold. If the damage is major the vehicle is usually sold to a salvage yard. I've never heard of a vehicle being sent back to the factory for repair as that is to cost prohibitive.

Are you sure the dealer just didn't sell the vehicle to someone else? That is usually the case when I read threads like these.

That's a great valid point. If the OP ever got a VIN # from Ford or window sticker via the emails Ford sends out on orders he could look it up online to see if it sold, etc. Also probably Tim or Kevin could look and tell. They really could have sold it to someone else and just screwing him over.

It's hard to say by just going off the OPs post but you are correct. In the past both @fordvideoguy and @KevCuRaoi have helped other members find out that the vehicle they ordered was sold out from underneath them.

I specifically remember KevCuRaoi doing this on multiple occasions. If @Goatld50 does in fact have a VIN and is willing to share it hopefully Kevin sees this thread and is once again willing to help.

I think my dealership has been trying as much as they can. They have had similar issues about even getting information about my 2023 order. The answer from my dealership was we can figure out appropriate pricing once you 2024 order shows up.

At the time, my 2023 was showing built just waiting on shipping. I never wanted a 2024 to begin with. That order had been placed just in case. I have other posts explaining my 2023 order further.

Left me wondering, too.
Sorry, phone and not double checking lol

I have the Vin and order number, to make a very long story short, My dealership notified me in March that my 2023 had been built and was waiting on shipping. Ever since, I've been tracking my order online. Without fail, I would get within a week of passing the eta and it would get pushed back a month or more. My dealership found out that it had been damaged and "sent back for repairs" in early October. Just last week and after actually passing the shipping eta of November 11th, I inquired with my dealership (after calling Ford) and found out that it had been scrapped.
