Yes, off road...I think as a on road highway commuter it should work fine. Anything more difficult than a Walmart parking lot with a few inches of snow should be avoided.

On the bright side, it should ride nice

It’s not meant for major off road use. It doesn’t even have a two speed t for case. Amazed at all the people wanting to lift it and add bigger tires. Absolutely a waste of time and money. Buy a truck made for heavy off roading..

… also kind of makes me wish I went into engineering. The sheer automation is fascinating. Have an buddy from my Navy days who built these assembly lines for BMW in SC back in the day after he got out. Always admired this line of work.

Howdy, The video and pictures captions say P-HEV battery installation. The P in PHEV stands for Plug-In. Is this captioned wrong? I've ordered a Hybrid, and don't think it can be plugged in... Can someone clarify this for me. Thanks!

It says it but that is the single side brief case size battery pack on the current non-plug in hybrid, so IDK why

Checked our Ford dealer in town two nearest town over. Both had a couple of Mavericks come in and they were sold immediately. Won't be hearing on my hybrid order until at least sometime in Dec at the earliest, and I'm expecting a ship date in late Jan or early Feb.

These were customers that didn't want them because the dealer was jacking the price up by 6 grand, but they all sold with in hours.

I'm really curious how a wizened expert would even guesstimate this, seems like an incredibly complex analysis that would be impossible without internal knowledge to even ballpark meaningfully. Some guess they must be losing money on XL base models, or just breaking even. But what objectively/quantitatively is that even based on?

As a first year model cycle (assuming a 4-5 year MMC), I would guess Ford would target somewhere in the 5-6% ROI, which would be pretty good for a low MSRP vehicle. This is just my best guess, based on my 20+ years of OEM automotive product development (not with Ford).

Sorry it wasn't meant to be hostile at all, my comment was also genuinely curious how someone would guesstimate this! I would also love to know. I replied to you for the context but I didn't expect you to be able to answer heh. Other people probably have some background in vehicle manufacturing and may be able to shed some light on quantitative values they can extrapolate from. But my comment was mostly my pessimism about various people online saying Ford is losing money on the XL model. I don't see how they could know that, I know you didn't say that though, sorry if it came off like I was directing it at you.
