FWIW,

From new I kept an eye on my 12 volt battery in my 2024 Ecoboost.
From day one until Bambi murdered it 18 months and 20,000 miles later.
Resting voltage was always 12.4 VDC on my AGM

Now on my 2026 Ecoboost it’s 12.8 VDC
Did ford finally fix the state of charge issue ?

Not at all useless observation.
12.8 on your AGM is very good, in the optimal range and especially compared with the 12.4 volts you were getting previously.

For those interested, I found this chart handy..

The EcoBoost has mostly come from the factory AGM equipped. There were some exceptions early on due to supply shortages. I think the stop/start system needed it.

OK, I usually wouldn't post anything but my wife insisted on opening that second bottle of wine so here goes. Reading all the battery posts, I recently decided to check my battery on a rare three day park for my 2025 hybrid with a Oct 2025 build date, 8,400 miles.
Battery after a few hours 13.03
Next morning 12.94
Day 2 12.90
Day 3 12.87
Day 3 after waking it up 12.48

Did you test with a meter? I’ve found interesting behavior with modern vehicles in that regard. Voltage at the posts is always higher than interior readouts, and if you disconnect the posts the voltage usually goes up quite a bit. So many vampires drawing power all the time.

The SoC value if you have a scan tool seems to get the closest to what it actually is.

My 24 came with an agm, but imo the only improvement ford has made in this regard is making the battery way easier to remove 😂 I removed mine to put it on a tender and recondition it and it’s just such ass compared to the redesign…

Yes sir !
With my very high quality
$7.99 digital VOM
From Harbor Freight.
On the battery posts.
:’P

FWIW the same meter is at Wally World for
$12.95 but it comes in black. I have both.
They are exactly the same and test out exactly the same.

I've seen 12.2 right after turning it off..
Ford has some terrible engineers at times.
Frequently seems to undercharge mine even if the ac is on.

I'll bet when you got your 1st truck with AGM - the battery had been sitting on the shelf for awhile.

So by the time you got it, and it's strategy of only charging up to (same 92% SOC as hybrid?) xx.x% - it was too far gone to get a full charge from the BMS.
Which I recall is all you got out of it even after days on external charger.

Or it happened to be a problem battery anyway, and was never going to take a full charge.

I'll bet the date code on new truck battery is much more recent to it actually being delivered.

So no - Ford didn't fix anything. You lucked out.
