When I got my 23 Lariat hybrid the SYNC software was version 3.4.23088. A software update was available for version 3.4.23188 As I did with my 23 Ranger, I downloaded the new version from the Ford site to a USB and updated the SYNC successfully, according to the Software Update screen. Following Ford's instructions I put the USB back in the computer to tell Ford the update was successful. nothing happened.

I went to the Ford Sync update page for the Maverick and this is the message I got:
IT APPEARS THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE UPLOADED LOG FILE. OUR TEAM WILL REVIEW SHORTLY AND UPDATE YOUR ACCOUNT TO REFLECT THE CURRENT VERSION OF SYNC IN YOUR VEHICLE. WE RECOMMEND USING WI-FI UPDATES WHERE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR VEHICLE.

OK, something went wrong, USB glitch, Ford web site error who knows. But the "Team" was on it. Everything would be set right "shortly." Well that was almost 4 weeks ago . In addition to not being able to access the SYNC update page my dashboard at Ford.com says my Software Update is disabled. So after talking to the chat bot three times over this period and spending over an hour with 5 different people on Wednesday the problem persists. I did find out that the instructions to reinsert the USB after the update are wrong and that the "Team" will correct the instructions "shortly." So if you are able (my WiFi doesn't extend to my driveway) I suggest you stick with WiFi updates only. BTW, everybody I spoke to at Ford had no idea who the "Team" is.

I have a 22 Lariat and the wi fi update did not work. Told me I was up to date even tho I knew I wasn't. Had the truck about 10 months before I looked at it. I had to use the usb method. That was about 2 months ago it worked fine

Whenever that's the case, other than going to the stealership, using your phone as a wi-fi hotspot is usually the best option.
If mobile service is weak/nonexistent at your location, drive somewhere with a strong mobile signal and get the update there.

I tried both home wifi and hotspot. Just flat out did not work. Had to use USB method. Another poster said once he updated via USB wifi did work after that but I have not tested yet. I had no problems b4 or after the update.

I have used my home Wifi to do all my upgrades, with zero issues.

We have mesh wifi at home with 5 satellite transmitters placed all around. I placed one to the garage, as our smart garage door opener was barely staying connected before. Now we have full signal in the garage. It will be great for when I do need to do the updates.

I did my first update two weeks ago by USB. It suceeded. I uploaded the log file and also got this "issue" message. Two weeks latet and I still see the web site has not updated but the "issue" message is still there. I called Ford and was told to be patient. I was also told updates are only released once a year so it should be fixed by the next one.

I too had the same issue with the update via USB. Was told on the Chat link that the vehicle would report by modem to Ford and May take about a month to update. On seems correct since the vehicle data is sent to them therefore software versions should get updated. They never mentioned the software instructions were in need of an update. All seem to be working on my vehicle went from sync 3.4 22000 to 3.4 23188.

My 2023 Sync3 is on version 3.4.22251 and the 3.4.23188 will never install over WIFI with a strong signal. I searches for 5 min. and message says the software is up to date. I tried the USB method several times without success. I just get a message about Sync3 usb is detected and never does anything. I've done it before both USB and WIFI a few times with 2 different Rangers and always worked.
I think I'll just wait until I need to service at the dealer since the only issue I have is slow interface response which seems to be common.

Can't disagree with that. But something is wrong, thus the warning and the comments.

Most phones/plans can easily be turned into a wifi hotspot, probably a lot easier.

I eventually was able to update to 3.4.32188 via USB with assistance on the phone. Turned out a critical step for Apple users was left out. All is showing the update is now current but I have the same experience regarding uploading the log file to Ford. Same error message regarding the problem with the log file, same “Software Updates Disabled” on website vehicle dashboard.
I triple checked that the “ Automatic Updates” is enabled and connected to wifi.
Chat on three occasions was no help last week. All said Sync is going through updating and unavailable. None would tell me a ETA for completion.
Nothing is wrong with my Sync3 unit but there is obviously a snafu at Ford. One of many 🤨
