Did the updated FordPass app. I think i preferred the distance til empty vs percent of gas tank. I’m sure I will adjust to the new reading.

I agree... I liked being able to just look at my phone and determine if I had enough gas to get to where I was planning to go.

Since both pieces of information are still "in the truck" it'd be nice if Ford gave users a simple toggle setting to choose which they want to view in the app...

Did you update through your phone or was this done automatically from the truck?

Can't speak for OP, but I assumed they meant the phone app software, which is updated independently of anything the truck has going on. My update was the iOS version, installed yesterday.

Mine still has mileage. Says "Range: 72 Miles" because I last bought gas on June 17.

This is why I keep Auto Updates off on my phone. Fortunately, on Android, you can always delete the app and install a previous version.

FordPass updated 6/19 on my Android and still shows "Range". Maybe this is an IOS thing.

Any Android users showing "Percentage"?

If you have the app installed on your Apple watch, it will still show range, even if the iPhone app shows fuel status. At least, as of today....

The older version, like a few months ago, had way more information and although not perfect, it was better than this one.

You are correct. The phone app is usually done automatically unless one has auto update turned off, but the truck has auto updates as well which led to my question. Additionally, the auto truck updates can also be turned off. I was advised to do so to help resolve the deep sleep hybrid issue, but so far it hasn't made any difference that I can detect.

That update option is using WiFi, and from testing, while it may turn on once overnight to check if there is an update, the system is turned off otherwise (meaning it'll drop off the wifi network quickly). Not a likely reason for draining battery.
And WiFi is a small power-drain even when it's on the edge of the wifi signal and has to turn the radio up in power to use it barely.

The ATT cell modem though for telematics - not sure how often that is checking in to pass on data the Ford app is using, but cellular network uses a tad more power when you have bad signal, or no signal and it's constantly searching for it. That's constantly connecting so you can do your remote start or lock/unlock thru the app, besides info given.

Got good ATT network in your normal areas, especially where parked?
