Rok bloks are better mudflaps than the OEM. I also see the OEM ones on evilbay from time to time. This is something the owner can easily put on themselves.

Really it just comes down to the demand for higher minimum wage leading to higher cost of goods. It’s why Walmart and grocery stores are moving to the self checkout model. Hell even convenient stores are doing it now.
Not really. Not at all actually. Stores have been using self checkout kiosks for decades. They offer them because many customers prefer them- stores generally try to do things that meet their customers' expectations.

What is your role in the grocery business, and what is the story?
Family owns a chain through the SE of Ohio/Western WV. The story is as I said. It’s really just economics and businesses worrying about their bottom line. Does the market come into play, sure. Your metros may want the no convo checkout but in the rural parts of the country, the self checkout model coupled with the demand for a higher wage eats them alive, drives them out and your Walmarts and targets come in and gobble them up. They have the capital to upfront the cost of the self checkouts and eventually they spend less on wages.

Countless analysis have been done on this, and there is no shortage of reports making it clear that minimum wage has little to do with self-checkout kiosks. It is simply stores adopting new technology. Stores have adopted things like pallet jacks (and electric pallet jacks), motorized cart collectors for parking lots, etc, and those things turned 4 man tasks into 1 and 2 man tasks.

Also, regarding "metros may want the no convo checkout but in the rural parts of the country"... You know over 80% of Americans live in urban areas. So even by your own logic, the vast majority of consumers want the option of self-checkout.

you’re not very familiar with Appalachia are you?

ever been to a local grocery store that had self checkout (not a Lowe’s, not a Publix but a small town grocery store)?

also there’s this…https://www.forbes.com/sites/errols...retailers-eliminate-cashiers/?sh=6cbc31977d88

be warned in the link above, two things can and often are true at the same time. Sure some don’t want the interaction but also bottom line reigns supreme.

I just bought some beer for our cabin at this small town local grocery store today. Used the self checkout. https://www.facebook.com/dicksfreshmarket/posts/pfbid035UqoNmLuYPkFddrGt88Rf33FRToNEm3DfZk83u4j3x8ZMSTUNMNRu7nAEzqjYcwgl

Like I said, stores put self checkout kiosks in because consumers want it. And like you said, 80% of consumers might want it, but 20% do not.

Ford Maverick Update: 2023 Maverick scheduling starts October 20. [Current key constraints: Hybrid, splash guards] ds

No matter your political opinions, there will be no 23 scheduling for 12/5. That's the week they build my 22 until they reschedule it that is.

Or the week of 12/12. They’ll be busy building my 22 XL so I can get it for the 4th of July.

I'm retiring end of next year, dealer laughed when I said, "Just get it to me by then." He said oh, you'll have it before then. Not so sure about that anymore, with all these dates that keep getting pushed back.

Still going to bury my head in the sand and pretend that my base model hybrid with no options will be one of the few early ones built since it has no constraints or add ons.
Unless the chip shortage continues…

The dealer is the (legally mandated) middleman, in reality. There were plenty of dealers that didn't require a deposit when placing an order for a Maverick.
The Dealer is Ford as far as I am concerned.
I ordered a hybrid Maverick Lariat w/Lux, BAP, and both CP Assists from two different dealers, neither of which required a deposit. It is up to the individual dealer whether or not they require a deposit or not. It’s not a requirement by Ford.
