Yes, former Michigander here. Decades ago there was a greasy material called "Texaco" or something like that. I went to place in Dearborn. It went out of vogue in the 90's or early 00's. Maybe it's still around somewhere. Better than the old school Ziebart.
This shop has been gone for years. I've moved over the years but still remember them or the stuff they sprayed. I do remember those cars holding up to the salt or elements it wasn't a yearly application. Still the close as I could get to it was Krown.

I'm not a fan of Ziebart or that black stuff that dries and cracks allowing the salt water or salt spray access to metal. That's just me or my opinion. Its what directed me to Krown. Good or bad that's what I sent with.

On another note, I've always been told once a Michigander, always a Michigander. Hope whatever state or country you are in, you are enjoying it.

Krown. Most competitive pricing other than doing it yourself. They do drill the holes in the car to get to everywhere. Well worth it.

The Texaco stuff was a one-time application. One thing to NOT do is ever block any drainage slots, mostly at the bottom of the Doors, Decklid, etc.

Yeah, I lived in Mich for like 55 yrs. Going back to visit soon before the cold weather, to recharge the hometown batteries. I enjoy AZ but I'll never lose my roots there.

Just a suggestion for an unmentioned product Amsoil HD MP
I use this on my F150 in WI. Large spray can that can do my truck with a single can. If careful spraying there will be do drips, the protectant sets up quite quickly to a waxy feeling surface.

2017 driven thru 9 WI winters. I use 2 cans a year spring and autumn.
Looks promising, unfortunately not sold in Canada 🫤
According to the SDS this is super bad for the lungs, do you wear a respirator when spraying it?

I've used Fluid Film and Woolwax and I think they're both good products. One area that I see rusting on many vehicles from different manufacturers, whether OEM or aftermarket, is the trailer hitch receiver. I always coat mine inside and out in the fall after I'm done towing for the season.

Fluid Film.
It was the first task completed when I got the truck.

I lowered the spare wheel after the underside Fluid Film application.
Afterwards, I just used a spray can of Fluid Film to get up above the spare on the underside of the bed.

As for the spare wheel itself I just coated the surfaces with motor oil because if I get a flat, I don't want the black goo all over my hands and tools changing it.

Later on, I installed the Mabett aluminum under body cavity shield so that the Fluid Film could be sprayed up into the cavity first.

In NH here, I just had my 26 sprayed with the v3 from nhou, Consider doing it while its still warm as it helps with penetration into seams.
