The holes in the pan are created to allow engine oil and other fluids to dump on the ground rather than collect under the hood and catch fire in the event of a block breach.

How do you offer an extended warranty on a dead person or a melted down truck?
Take a garden hose and turn it on on an unmodified Maverick (no holes). Let me know how much water you collect.

My 23 came ready to go with shutters removed and holes in the belly pan from the factory.
So why are they doing these things still in 2023? Are they still putting out defective crankshafts? I’ve never looked at my 23 to see if shutters are missing and holes in the pan.

the problem was not enough ventilation allowed vapors to collect. the cause in this case was a broken engine. what about a fuel system leak?

Hmmm ok I guess I just thought there was a window of time when there was a small number of engines released with a faulty crankshaft that could lead to engine failures that might lead to an engine fire. I just thought we were past that. Sure I guess those modifications might still be useful, just never considered that.

These are all great questions. Since FoMoCo monitors this forum, perhaps, they would like to reply and clarify the situation? Hmm?

Hello? Is this thing on? 🙄

Dream on, you won't get any clarification on something they don't want to talk about.

They should just add a fire suppression system and extend the warranty.
Summit Racing Fire Supression
We ran something like this on the race cars.

And offer Nomex underwear with the "Maverick" name embroidered on, as an option!
They should throw those in as a “we’re sorry you may die” gift. Maybe with an underwear case for the FITS as well.
