Unable to disable seat belt chime

I can think of one reason to turn it off…. In New Hampshire they have no seatbelt laws…. Yeah, safety and all that but I could see not wanting something beeping at you if it’s not a requirement in your state

For me, I don’t mind the beeps since I always put my seat belt on, but what annoys me is this seat belt screen that pops up when you have it on or running that shows who is belted and even if you, and if anyone else around you, is belted and this thing stays up until you push ok on the controls. That is annoying because I am all buckled up and it still has me clear that. This is something new since my 2020 Escape does not have this.

So I did what the book says to disable the seat belt chim but can’t get the seat belt dash sign to turn off so I can do the process. What gives??

YAY! Great news we can de-activate the seat belt chime....very cool. I have always hated seat belts.......dont like gov't forcing me to do anything.

Ok, I appologize for ruffled feathers. On second thought, nope... no apologies. Seat belts save lives. Period. I like to tinker on my truck as much as anyone else. It is interesting to discover how to change settings. Knowledge is a great thing. You know as well as I do that there are folks that will disable the chime just because they want to drive around on the streets without wearing their seat belt. Maybe even just down the road the road to the store. A lot accidents happen within few miles of your home. I get it, you don't want it beeping while you are on your private drive. That's your choice. I would encourage you to put it on when you drive on the regular roads. I am all for sharing information. Just be aware of the ramifications.

I don't buckle my seatbelt when going from walmart to home depot through a parking lot, my kids unbuckle their seatbelt so they can get their backpacks and such in the school parking lot, I don't buckle my seatbelt when running my daughter to the bus stop on a dead residential road because it's 5 degrees outside... I wear my seatbelt any time I'm actually driving, always have, always will. The chime is annoying as crap during the times that no real driving is going on.

Have you tried turning the beep off after starting and "Not driving"" to Walmart? I would expect it to reset to beeping after you either stopped "not driving" or perhaps when you turn key off?

Works the same as it does on the check engine light = if the tape covers the light it cannot be seen

Fortunately, I find this seat belt chime to be the least obnoxious one of any vehicle I have driven the past 20 years. Totally white noise to me. But it drives my wife bonkers.
