Unable to disable seat belt chime

So I did what the book says to disable the seat belt chim but can’t get the seat belt dash sign to turn off so I can do the process. What gives??

I know this does not answer your specific question, but what about just using a seatbelt clip to make the system think the seat belt is fastened?

I would if it couldn’t be done but clearly states in the manual that it could be disabled. I’m not having success with it.

I didn't think to look that it can be disabled. I was quite happy when it went off the first time and was pretty quiet! I'm pretty good at ignoring it.

No Maverick YET, I have a similar situation when hooking our Cherokee to our motorhome

If I screw up even 1 tiny step,
ops I started the motor, Ops I take my foot off the brake at the wrong time, OPs I waited less than 1 minute, OPS I waited longer than 30 seconds, OPS etc, etc !
I have to start ALL OVER... it's so complicated I had to print a cheat sheet WITHOUT all the BS.
example:
1. DO NOT START MOTOR
2. put foot on brake do not take it off

5. Take foot off brake

10. Shift to neutral
11.
12.

give it try just be aware you probably have to follow exactly the instructions OR start over

The problem is the seatbelt light on the dash doesn’t go away after a minute of waiting. So I can proceed and I’ve tried to proceed with no success. It’s frustrating because it’s simple. I’ve done it on 3 f150 flawlessly

Don’t have it on my motorcycle so why wear a seatbelt in MY vehicle??? I’m not an idiot and very handy when comes to cars. tried everything. OK!!!!!!!!!

It does not disable the light just the chime.

It does not disable the light just the chime.

I know, that’s not what I want I want exactly what it states in the manual. The damn chime I want gone.

Could always just wear your seatbelt, that should shut it off.
