After playing music in Android Auto such as Amazon Music or Musicolet, the next time I get into my 2022 Maverick I am unable to access the radio. If I press the "Audio" button as shown, nothing happens. If I press the "Audio Off" button, nothing happens. Have to go into Android Auto and play something from a music source in AA. THEN I can switch back to the screen below and access the AM and FM radios. Very annoying!

Is there any fix or way to circumvent this issue?

When this happens, just do a reboot of the system. Press and hold the seek-forward button and power button at the same time until the screen goes black. Once it boots back up it will be working again.

You could also try a unplug/replug of your phone as well to reset the Android Audio connection.

No fix I am aware of. I use an AA wireless adapter, I have to unplug it and plug it back in.

Yea but what does a reboot actually reset? Do you have to reconfigure the phone completely after a reboot?

No need to reconfigure the phone after. It is just a reboot of the system in the truck to get past the hangup. All this is, is a bug in the Maverick's infotainment system that is fixed by rebooting the radio. Yes it's annoying and Ford should try to implement a patch to fix this bug.

Anytime I play audio from Android Auto on my 25 Maverick, the screen will revert to Audio Off when I have finished listening to whatever it was. I have to touch Audio Off, go to Source and then Press whichever I want (Sirius/AM/FM). That's how it is for over 18 months of owning the vehicle.

How often do you find that you need to reboot the system?

-Thanks

Have you tried pressing the Power button inside the volume dial?
I have, that does nothing either. Doesn't even turn on what was formerly playing like Amazon music.

Rebooting does NOT resolve the problem. I rebooted the console pressing the >> and power buttons until the screen went black. Then I played Amazon music. Then I turned off the truck, and I was still unable to control the audio using the standard non-android controls. I had to open Android Auto, access Amazon Music, play a song, THEN I was able to go back and control the audio using the standard controls, i.d., select FM or AM, etc.

I can't believe this has been broken for years!

Yup. I took delivery of mine 1/30/24 and if I play anything through my phone, a video, music, a voicemail, anything except a live phone call I have to unplug my AA wireless adapter and plug it back in to get audio to work again. Neither the on screen power button or the manual power button will work. The on screen audio select button doesn't work either until I unplug.

I'm using an Ottocast to provide wireless android auto. What I do to restore normal radio function is go into AA, play music through Amazon Music or Musicolet or whatever, then I can exit out of AA and select a radio station. Nuts!

Are you going into sources and pressing either am or fm. After you hit the power button?
