When you have the music on. There is a button that says sources.
When you hit that, you should see am, fm, sirius, etc.

Edit-Just checked, the music doesn't even need to be on. The sources button is in the top left.

For the life of me, I could not figure out how to get either fm or am radio.
No, that model doesn't have AM or FM, just CW.

So get your Morse Code back up to speed!

😜

OK, just push the command button on the wheel, release, and say, "tune to 102.3" (or whatever).

I really don't understand why CarPlay and android auto don't have apps to control the radio.

Carplay and Android Auto don't have an interface to control services provided by your vehicle, only services provided by your phone. Your vehicle provides the radio.

yes, I understand that.

what is incomprehensible is the vehicle manufacture rs not exposing an API for this as part of their hosting these.

I absolutely understand not letting CarPlay near the transmission, but shielding the entertainment system (run from a different computer & bus) makes no sense.

It makes sense to me. Who would have interest in developing the radio apps to utilize the provided API besides the manufacturer? Why would the manufacturer develop two apps when they already provide you direct control over the radio without requiring a phone?

Thank you.

I couldn’t find how to get to the screen with source. Didn’t have any music I could play at the time.

I’m too old for all this fancy stuff. I purchased my first new car in 1976.
Your a newbie, I bought a new 66 Mustang. And several clunkers before that.

I have a loaded ‘25 EB XLT. Been using Apple carplay always. My wife borrowed my phone to use the shopping list on it while I sat in the truck. My Apple carplay went away as my phone went away. For the life of me, I could not figure out how to get either fm or am radio.

I opened the owners manual on the dash screen, read about using the radio, but the info was wrong. for example, the user manual showed to use the tuning knob, but my ride has no tuning knob. Could not figure out how to find and use the radio.

Help please.

Thank you.
Being 75 i understand your situation.if you have any children or grandchildren ask one to help you with all this weird stuff.my daughter takes care of my computer related things and took care of my radio other type things.i tell sirri to play 50 and 60’s music and it plays.didn’t ask any
questions😎

Just press every button on the screen until you see "Source" Probably something in the lower left.

The little house icon in the top left corner of the screen will get you to the screen to choose your sources.

Why would the manufacturer develop two apps when they already provide you direct control over the radio without requiring a phone?
I'm recalling my call to cancel DirecTV.

"I see you've been with us over 10 years. Why are you cancelling now"

"Your DVRs suck."

I didn't have a DVR for direct; I got direct to feed my Tivo. When they went to their own, they were unbearable.

The car manufactures have about a 0% chance of making and maintaining a map that's even competitively close to AA or CarPlay. the same for other apps.

I've seen enough of what comes on sync 4 to be irritated that the system doesn't simply come up in CarPlay; ford's is not up to snuff.

There are communications between the vehicle, its communication systems, and the app: it couldn't place a bluetooth phone call without it, for one example. And the display of the next turn at the top of the driver display with Apple Maps.

not being able to tune the radio with the chosen app is simply petty.

GM seems to be announcing that they will stop interacting with CarPlay. that will move them way down my choice list .
