Turning on Rear View Camera when not in reverse?

It sure would be a nice feature if we could turn the rear view camera on when not in reverse. I have a 2024 Lariat hybrid...great little truck.

I think you can but it lasts only for a few seconds. I agree, in some situations it would be nice but after all these are the cheapest new trucks for sale in the USA so no frills for you.

I agree, these are great little trucks. I love mine. The upgrade from my 05 Ranger was phenomenal.

I would have thought that the upgraded Lariat model might have the feature. Ford needs to consider it

You could probably find a 3rd party vendor who markets a rear cam with that capability. I have one such in my motorhome and I find it very helpful.

The only way I was ever ever able to do that was using a aftermarket Kenwood head unit. You were able to hit a button and view the front or rear cameras at any time, as well as watching a DVD on the head unit or rear headrest monitors.. As of now they're aren't compatible with the Mavericks or dash kits.

Install a digital mirror. It's not dependent upon the truck except for power.

You would think it could be done with a little forscan magic. Or a spoofing circuit to fool the head unit into thinking the Maverick is in reverse when its not. Ford, are you listening?
