Waldorf Ford in MD called me yesterday and offered this Lariat Lux package for just shy of $37k. I passed on it because it kind of defeats the purpose of the truck IMO. $5k markup plus “factory installed” options. I don’t want to feed into this nonsense. I’m sure it’s gone already but some of you still looking, maybe give them a shout.

Good for you. I like seeing these posts.
I’m doing the same a holding out for MSRP.
For anyone who absolutely can’t wait good luck. That’s a beauty.

Good call. Do not pay markups on these vehicles.

Yes, I agree with you. I view the Maverick as an economical choice. I wouldn't want a near $40k Maverick the same way I wouldn't want a near $40k Hyundai. I am super happy with my $26k Maverick though.

I got a text from the sales guy I've been dealing with at the dealer about a velocity blue XLT with lux package that just came in.

But eh, while I like the lux, I want the truck I ordered with the 4k tow, moon roof, in hot pepper red. I said thanks but no thanks...I'll wait to see if I get a VIN any time soon...

I'm not sure if they were going to add any ADM or not, didn't get that far.

An email $5K ADM starting point on a Lariat Hybrid isn't bad IMO assuming that's the vehicle someone wants. Sitting in the seat at the dealership and depending on the overall deal, who knows, perhaps it goes home with someone for +$3k or so.

There’s about a 1% chance they weren’t going to add a markup on it. I’m not going to throw money out the window just because I’m impatient. You’ll get your truck eventually I’m sure.

My same build, Lariat Lux Hybrid. Paid $30,844, but also waited 8.5 months.
Those screws through the front bumper make me cringe a little.

A good economic future favors those with patience.

Good work giving them the Heisman.

Remember, if no one agrees to pay any ADMs, it will be back to MSRP by the end of the month.

Don’t become part of the problem by agreeing to pay an ADM!

LOL

What about this scenario:

You ordered a truck at $28k MSRP and it appears it will now roll to a 2023
With a potential delivery in +9 months (or more)
Rolling to a '23, will likely encounter price increase(s)
You're looking for a Maverick
The exact truck you want is available now and has a MSRP of $28K
Most Mavericks ADMs are +$5K-$7K

Are you suggesting you wouldn't pay $29k today for that exact truck you want?

You should be price protected if your 22 rolls to a 23. There is no reason to pay a markup.

It's a pretty darn cool looking truck in Cactus Gray, I almost chose that color. If I had to have a vehicle at the moment I might pay a markup, but I would complain about doing so. From the time these were announced, the market price for vehicles has gone up 15% and Fords pricing hasn't caught up yet. For some reason I tend to accept pricing of some things without question, real estate, pharmaceuticals, professional fees and education... but want to beat up on car dealers. The automobile manufacturers and their dealer network need to make money too... and their product is a lot more honorable than some of the others I mentioned above.
