This might be worth metioning. I read a thead some time ago that the Tremor will not come with the upgraded Gear ratio and that would only be avilable on the 4 K tow package. For what it's worth to everone here, on the Ford tracking system under the title Exterior on my order it states (Up graded drive ratio). Then go's on to say the Tire sizes ,vehicle color and Rims. ???? :):unsure:

I mean there can be more than one upgraded drive ratio for a rear diff, the tremor just happens to be more geared towards off road rather than hauling…. Definitely would not try to haul the 4k that the 4k package is rated for with the tremor though

Last i heard it is in fact the higher numerical ratio of the 4k package and BS Badlands.

As for 4k ability its half soft springs and half cooling capacity. Im gonna put isolated air bags in my rear springs and not worry if I overload my 2,200 lb max weight trailer a little bit on short drives.

As for 4k ability its half soft springs and half cooling capacity. Im gonna put isolated air bags in my rear springs and not worry if I overload my 2,200 lb max weight trailer a little bit on short drives.
I also have air bags ready for mine when I receive my Maverick. The up graded ratio will also help me in sandy conditions. (y)

Could also be another reason for the lower EPA gas rating of the Tremor.

At first I thought that however the XLT with 4 K with upgraded ratio has a higher MPG rating then the Tremor.. And some individuals who drive Tremors now claim better mileage then the EPA ratings. Go figure. :)

A couple of ways to tell when you get it... On top of the trans is a sticker that has 381 on it. Also in forscan there is a setting for the 3.81 axle ratio.

But to the EPA, the 4K is not a separate model like the Tremor. 4K is just an option to AWD versions. So the 4K numbers get averaged in with all the standard AWD numbers. So the drive ratio effect does not stand out as much.

Yes, as always. But, driven the same way, the regular AWD should get a little better mileage.

What air bags did you end up getting ? I am not sure if the Tremor has longer coil springs then the FX4 .

What air bags did you end up getting ? I am not sure if the Tremor has longer coil springs then the FX4 .
Well they should be longer since it has a 0.8 in lift. I don't have my truck on island yet. Hopefully it will be here the first week of August. Our road trip was insane 4500 miles in 14 days with 2.5 multiday stops. I barely got any time to do any real examining on it. Not to mention the average temp of our trip was over 100 degrees. 4 days in the 80s and 4 in the 90s, the rest was ridiculous.

I will say I am considering holding off on the air bags at least till I have it loaded up. The topper doesn't squat it at all. We will see what it does when I load it up with laundry, 110 lbs of dogs, propane, 15 gallons of water, and my fat behind. I am thinking about a lift though. I think it needs just a lil more. Might do a quality spacer or a spring. I really like the ride it has so definitely am keeping the dampeners.

I got 29-32 mpg hwy in my Tremor at any given time. Even when going 70-80mph.
