Saw a tremor on the lot near me. Good looking truck and even considered trading mine in until I saw the $12,500 markup! Is that really the kind of market they think there is for these things? $12,500 is criminal if you ask me.. This is coming from a relatively reputable dealership around here too..

I assume you mean "criminal" in a non-literal sense. What do you think they should be pricing it at? It is their truck, don't you think they have a right to ask however much they want? If I list a Playstation 5 on craigslist for $2,000, is that criminal? I would say no, because nobody is being forced to buy it, and if someone does voluntarily buy it, then obviously it was smart pricing because that is what the market showed itself to bear, no?

Wow nobody is going to pay that since dealers can now order stock units. Only a matter of time before they will be at or under MSRP.

Do you know how many people wanted to order Mavericks but did not get their order in during the short order bank window?
Alot but looking at the order breakdowns it wasn't for the tremor. Hence dealers are able to order stock tremors as they are way under capacity. People are attracted to the Maverick because of fuel efficiency and the low price neither of which apply to the tremor variant. If they would have kept the order banks open they would have just taken more hybrids orders. I'm surprised Ford hasn't opened it up to more EB XLT and Lariat orders since they are way under capacity.

You must work at a dealership with high markups...

It's unfair, and it's ripping people off. It keeps the market too high for the average Joe. Of course SOMEONE (with money to waste) will come along and buy it, but it prices most of us out. This is supposed to be a budget minded middle class mans truck, and all I see is budget middle class people getting priced out of this and other vehicles by greedy dealerships.

That's fair, but still, stock Tremors are a long ways off from hitting dealer lots. And I agree that the Maverick is attractive for the low price (I bought two XLs with only hitches), and I do not see the attraction above mid level trims, but look around here, tons of people do seem to like the 35k+ versions.

This may come as a shock, but I actually do not work at any kind of dealership, I just believe in the free market and do not think we need government telling private entities how much they can charge for their goods and services. If it is priced too high, no one will buy it. If someone buys it, then it was priced correctly.

And I fail to see how it is unfair. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy a Maverick and nobody needs to buy a Maverick. And I fail to see how you can claim it is not a budget minded middle class mans truck- it is the cheapest truck out there!

Lol, it’s not unfair and no one is getting ripped off. If you don’t like the price don’t buy the truck.

Or you could demand to speak with the Manager. LOL

When did they open up stock unit ordering for dealers? Is this a new development. First I'm hearing of it...

Yeah but in fairness Ford had technical difficulties with the Tremor body code in the ordering system, and it took them a couple days to get that worked out before Tremor orders could even be accepted. There were in fact a lot of people who WANTED to order Tremors but ended up not ordering them because their dealer never figured out how to do it, or they changed their order because the dealer said they couldn't do it.

Then, of course, there are the other 200 million Americans who still don't know the Maverick exists and might wake up tomorrow and want one when they see it for the first time. Granted, only a fraction of those may gravitate to a Tremor, but if you want one, and you didn't order one, where else you gonna get one??????

Inflation and shortages are to blame, and that is mostly the government's fault, not Fords.
Which government is at fault? Is inflation low and commodity availability high in Europe? South America? Canada? Asia?
