Trailer Hitch After Thought

Got my email that my Maverick will be built the week of 1/15/2024. Can I add the trailer hitch or have the dealership do it.

I personally have no use for one and if I ever really need something towed I’ll just rent whatever I need to tow it.

If you really need it you are going to pay quite a bit more but sure it can be done by dealership. I’ve seen where people have them installed at U-Haul outlets as well.

Too late to add it. Dealer will charge top dollar (probably at least ($300-500), maybe can use Ford points to help pay. I would look at other options also.

I thought all Mavericks came with a hitch, both hybrid and EB?

Plenty of options to add the receiver later. Note that wiring for trailer lights will be additional step. But if you’re just using it for a bike rack or bed extender, wiring isn’t needed.

I would absolutely order the hitch from the factory. It's a $100 option. Anyone who buys a Maverick without this option is making a big mistake, even if they don't need it. Not having it will be a big negative for a lot of buyers when you eventually sell the truck.

Mike is rightthe ford hitch is welded in due to the design of rear of truck and after market wiring can be a pain.best 100$ you will spend!

I also thought wrongly that the hitch came standard on trucks so my 2022 Maverick was delivered without it.

Even though I probably won't be towing a trailer I really need it to haul our two electric bikes on a hitch mounted bike rack as trying to haul the bikes in the bed is a pain.

So I placed an order for the 2023 with the hitch.

With the used market still in the overpriced area I made out by selling the 2022 and buying the 2023 with the sale of the 2022 and coming out with an extra $3,000 in cash.

I have been under my truck a few times . To me it looks like the trailer hitch bolts in . it slides into big box beams under the truck ,then there is two bolts on the bottom and two bolts on the side of each beam . Maybe I am miss understanding how its built though . Personally I think someone should get the hitch just so you have a rear recovery point if for nothing else .

You can order the tow package or just the hitch. I ordered just the hitch with mine. It costs $100 extra and came with 4 wire plug. I don't plan on any real heavy hauling.

Seeing this thread got my worried about my order

I was pretty sure the hitch was included but was confused by all the people saying it wasn't.

Strangely I don't see a hitch on the window sticker, it's just memory that it's included with the tremor package
