Been waiting for 18 months when my initial '22 order was first made. 2023 XLT order was priority 10 ordered on Sept. 16th. If my Maverick gets built I just hope I don't lose my shirt on the Impreza on a trade in. I will use it sparingly just in case. I couldn't pass up the low 3.9% and it happened to be my color choice and was first on the lot, brand new 2024! I find it fascinating that 2022 orders still not being honored by Ford but Subaru already has 2024s rolling onto the lot you can buy on the spot and at MSRP.

I am sure someone will criticize but congrats. Sometimes you need to do. What do you need to do. I always say it’s your money, spend it like you want.

No pics yet. I pick it up Thursday but signed off today. If my Maverick comes I just hope I'll be in a position to purchase it or will have to take a hit on my Subaru to buy. If Ford is gracious enough to convert my 22 order to a 23 maybe they will convert my 23 to a 24 *fingers crossed* .. I just got the "we regret to inform you" email which means no dice. Most likely.

Yeah I've been thinking of that too. AWD standard and a low base price. I think your fine. The only downside I've heard about Subarus are that as they age replacement parts on average are more expensive and the parts are a bit proprietary meaning you have to source some things from a Subaru dealer.
Yours is new though so your trouble free for what... 100,000 miles maybe? Nothing but wiper blades, tires, oil and gas. New is nice.

Did you opt for the 4 door or hatchback? Manual or automatic?

I got the Hatchback, IF my Maverick gets built I just hope I'm in a position to buy OR they still have value on the open market and I guess play the waiting game again for 2024 or IF they offer a Plug-in :D

Watch out of Subaru head gasket troubles. It is because of their engine design. The flat 4 worked for VW because they were air cooled.

Not the case anymore Subaru has solved it mostly. The boxer does consume oil. about a half to three quarters of a quart every 5k. Keep up on it and you’ll take those engines well north of 150k without any issues.

Source: I’ve taken 3 over 150k

OK if you keep quality coolant in the engine.
