So I actually had two odd things happen back to back yesterday. And want to see if anyone else had them.

So, I leave the radio on and usually mute it or stream something from my phone if I am listening.

I hit the power button on the dash in front of the display, and the radio would not turn off. The touch screen worked fine. But there's no off button on the screen. It would not shut off. So I just muted it. No big deal.

Stopped at next stop and shut off truck. Then turned it back on later to leave. On off button works.... But that's not the problem. The screen was black. I toggled the screen button on the far right. Nothing. Nothing would bring that screen on. But the radio was obviously working since the last station would play when I didn't have it muted.

And weirdly, the power button for the radio did now work. But the screen would not come on.

So I drive home. A bit miffed about it. But oh well. I back into my garage, so was thinking my rvc wouldn't work. Put it in reverse, and the screen slowly brightened up with the rvc on display.

Parked. Turn truck on and off. Screen worked fine each time. Rvc would work in reverse, etc.

No problems today at all. Radio, power button, and screen all functional.

Figure is just a computer quirk. But still... Anyone else have anything like that happen?

Hello!
Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer.
I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this screen concern. Thanks!

I haven't experienced anything like this with my XLT (non-sync3) yet, but I assume it'll happen on occasion. I experienced the same issues infrequently with my 2019 Ranger which had sync3 as well.

It has been established beyond a reasonable doubt that Ford’s software in their Sync/infotainment system is FUBAR. I do not understand how this is such a complex undertaking for an auto company, but it must be. Maybe some of those precious chips we all hear about and wait months to get have been infected with some Chinese virus? Lol

Thought I read somewhere that for the first 1,000 miles or so there may be gremlins in the electronics. I did experience several. (1) pulled a drive train malfunction, (2) lane centering would not turn off, (3) Blank touchscreen. All these were one time things and all before 1,000 miles. No problems since. 3,100 miles now.

I've had 2 Ford vehicles with Sync (the Mav will be my 3rd). The software is going to have bugs and will occasionally freeze on you.
The ratio and screen will usually reset itself after a restart (or just a bit of time) and goes back to working normally.

EDIT: By occasionally, I mean it happens once or twice a year to me.

Once my Maverick comes in and as long as I can get radio stations using the dial, anyone can have my video screen for Free. Won’t be using it, unless I put post it notes, pizza parlor business cards, photos of my Maverick on it.

At 6,000 miles have had two difference small problems. First while traveling, I have the Lariat Lux, while plugged in it lost my Iphone which I was needing for the map. I had to pull over and shut it off and resart a few times and then it worked fine the rest of the trip (1200 miles), Then yesterday the screen went black the volume could be turned up, it was only static, but again pulled into a parking lot shut it off and it fired up perfectly.
