Looking at the metal retractable ones, however the price has me hesitant to say the least. On Amazon I can see roll out ones for like 200$ and it makes me question the value of getting a name brand roll out one for 400+ if I don't go for a a metal retractable one like gator. I realize the 200$ amazon one is going to have worse quality, but if someone wants to break into it name brand or not i dont see the fabric/leather stopping a knife.. Opinions, suggestions, discounts? Just got my Maverick the 9/15/23 and I know it could improve me mpg, however my main focus is camping/shopping/vacation keeping my stuff in the bed dry and secure. Hence to in my mind how a metal tonneau should be superior in every way minus the 1k+ price point.

I got the $399 OEM soft rollup. Fordpass points covered half, I'm a klutz but got it put on in an hour with zero leaks.

This is the one I bought. Good price, decent quality (not crazy about the hold down latches...) and overall thus far I'm happy with it.

Not entirely crazy about the tri folds, cosmetically look dumb to me, however my main question for it would be space folded up is more then the roll up and is it heavy or awkward bringing it out compared to just unrolling? I'm 5'2" so if it's something you have to lift up high or awkwardly it'll be amplified by my height. Other then that I'd agree price wise isn't bad; definitely a lot more reasonable then the one I like a lot all minimum of 1.2k. Also life span on these? Do they age quickly or where it bends showing more age/damage then the rest of it?

found two companies up in canada that make similar bed covers to the bakflip ones but for like 1/2 the price. They dont ship to the US sadly.

I assume you looked at the BAK X4S?
I believe they have a slightly cheaper version, just X4.

If you PM Realtruck on this forum, you can get a cheaper price than is listed on their website (for anything they sell). Some people have said you can call the number and just say you are on this forum. I have only done it via a PM on his forum.

going cheap $240 and light weight with a Tyger, well reviewed on Amazonia.
Even this old guy can remove it when needed without climbing into the bed.

Remember you get what you pay for.
That's a big reason I'm thinking of the metal retractable ones. They're expensive but there's good reason for that.

Really depends what kind of use-case you're looking for.

I like the soft tri-folds because they are effective, easy to R&R, and affordably priced. I went with an Extang Trifecta Signature Series from RealTruck. Had one on 2 different F150's over 7 years with no issues (sat outside 24/7/365). So far, just as happy with the Mav edition.

If higher security is a priority, you never plan to remove it, and have a higher budget, there are likely better choices.

I've looked at many options on Amazon and ebay. And went with the Tyger trifold, based on reasonable price (not the absolute cheapest) and good reviews.

Not quite comparing apples to apples but I prefer the hard Trifold. I have a 2013 F150 which has had the same trifold since new (10 years). The seals, not the hinge, are getting tired but all else is good. The truck has spent its entire life outside in snow country (New England) and holds a snow load well. I have stood on it on occasion. It comes off easy when needed. For my uses, as a working and family vehicle, the extra spent was WELL worth it. I was going to go for the Maverick (which is why I am on this site) but the local dealer does not encourage a sale and I am waiting for things to become easier to buy. The F150 is not fuel efficient but it runs great, looks great, tows anything, has minimum repairs and was paid for a long time ago. Sorry about all long winded explanation but felt I needed to explain why I am here. Long term (10 years) the Trifold is the better option "for me". Depending on your uses consider the value of the hard trifold.

Bought oEDRo soft tri-fold at bargain price of $159. Now $212. I am a 79 year old and handicapped. Installed in 10 minutes, no tools required. Go thru carwash 1 or 2 times a week and hardly any water leakage. Quality is very good.

I like this cover but I got a deal on the ford site on the soft tri fold cover with ford emblem on it, no complaint's it fit good and looks good, don't know anything about this cover but like the looks. I can tell you from having 30 years of pickups and a few roll ups their a pain, sometimes you have to walk around the whole cover to pull it tight, never again tri-folds for me. And they all leak somewhat even the expensive ones 1200/1500.
