The Yokohama CV 4S was one tire I gave a serious look that is 3 peak rated for snow and looks a bit more aggressive, but doesn't look that knobby (road noise), and also has a low rolling resistance compound. Usually with A/T or these 3 peak rated all-weather tires, you are going to give up some some rolling resistance, wear, noise, and / or ride quality to gain more traction.

Guess it depends on what you value though. If you're never going off road, and don't need snow rated tires, the Michelin Defender 2, Pirelli AS 3, and Continental Tour 54 seem to be the 3 best all-season tires. They are also the kind of tire you would put on a Honda Civic though.

Just got Michelin Defender 2 last week. We’ve had great experience with them, and all three vehicles in our household have them now.

I thought I read somewhere that the Michelin Defender 2's aren't the greatest in snow? Can you or anyone else in a snowy part of the country chime in on your experience in snow with them?

Michelin is considered the Gold Standard. Probably don't need anything with blocky "off pavement" tread on a Maverick unless it's for image enhancement (aka "looks"), so the MS is a better choice than AT in my opinion.
Other brands may be cheaper price, but you really have to look at $ per Mile, not just the initial purchase price. Read reviews about longevity of any tire you're considering.

anecdote about cost vs use; I get about 250-300 miles out of a pair of running shoes before the sole is worn out too much. Typical price is about $125 per pair (I buy on sale!). I bought a pair of Asics Superblast for $200 because of recommendations. I'm at over 500 miles on those shoes, and they look like they have a few hundred more to go. Thus, they are cheaper per mile of use, a more economic purchase despite the higher initial cost.

I'm a fan of the Falken WildPeak Trails, but then I do a mix of long highway and poor dirt roads to get to the pavement. The WildPeaks are great in snow and rain, and quiet on the highway.
They also wear well.
And perhaps important to you, they don't look like they belong on a Honda Civic.. 😉

I was also considering going a little wider, what aspect ratio did you go with?
Lots of XL owners (can't remember your trim level) have gone from a 225/65/17 to a 235/65/17 without issue (other than a slight speedometer error.)

Michelin CrossClimate 2 excel in essentially everything other than off-road. Three peak mountain snowflake rated as well. I've been very happy with mine. Put them on with 100 miles on my Maverick.

245/65/17 There is a thread here with pics that shows different tires and different sizes on different trims. Mine is a 2.0 FX4

My buddies new 2025 Lariat came with Michelin Defender 2’s. 80,000 plus wear out warranty, they look great.
My AWD is so friggin good I don’t really feel the need for AT’s anymore.

I am looking at the
Goodyear Assurance Maxlife 235/60R 18
30 Lbs
Costs much less, had good luck with Goodyear before.

Michelin Cross Climate 2. These things look pretty aggressive (tread pattern) not too noisy and not much of a mileage hit. They aren't cheap, but hey, They are Michelins!

Time for some new shoes, currently leaning towards Firestone destination AT 2 but open to suggestions. Really just looking for a highway tire that doesn't look like it wasn't made for a Honda Civic, any recommendations appreciated.
The destination AT2 is not a highway tire.
