Unless you have high payloads or tongue weight, you don't need to even do 35psi. Surely this placard value is a nod to slightly better MPG. You'll discover, as I have that running 31 or 32 PSI cold makes a considerable improvement in ride quality and impact shock. Handling takes a *slight* hit, but I don't drive mine that way very often. I have not noticed a drop in MPG; still avg 45 to 46 MPG per tank on my very predictable work-off-hours drive routine.

As for tires, I've had Conti LX25's on two vehicles; tire rack rates as very high in comfort and overall performance. I concur. The "54" Conti's are also highly rated. Would consider either when the OEM Conti's are shot (28k miles on them, and wearing very evenly).
My stock Continental tires only have 8,000 miles on them but you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between mine and a brand new one. So impressed that way. I'm averaging 42MPG and that includes several months of cold winter weather. One of our sales reps loaded 200' of conduit and two 24" wire reels into his hemi V8 Dodge. I told him I could do the same thing no problem with over twice the MPG Love my hybrid

Agreed with a lot of comments here.
- The Maverick is VERY smooth riding and drives like a SUV/Car rather than a truck
- Michelin Defenders are the smoothest tire I've driven on personally, I google'd it and it seems the Michelin Primacy 4 are probably even smoother
- Going with a smaller wheels size will be a noticeable difference (I know since I've had both 17s and 18s)
- Going for a larger tire will make it smoother
- Lowering the PSI will help smooth out the ride

Still on my stock primacy tires. My Lariat is plenty smooth and very quiet.
To get even across the tire tread wear per my depth gage I run all four at 34 psi cold.

I went from primacy to 225/60/R18 Continental True Contact Tour 54 EV about $60/tire cheaper than primacy and (80k mile tire)
