This is exactly like the desks I had in elementary school.
Our desk's had a place for a inkwell.
It also raised up like that flat so you could eat lunch.

Being kind should go without question
Many new folks, however, are not looking for chat but answers to questions. Questions that have been answered thoughtfully many times over.
Some veteran forum members do the search and post links. That is helpful & kind for all of us.

Agreed. When I was new I just wanted answers, then as time went by and I got to “know” the members I chilled and got answers and fun banter, best of both worlds!Being kind should go without question

]And she responds to my coming home with a classic by wanting to go to dinner somewhere with a valet to get out of it!

My father told me that I had to understand negotiation in marriage. His example was that he'd talked about a 48" television (huge at the time), and she was happy when he came home with a 36" (big at the time).
"Dad,. you're bush league! I talked about a Harley, and she was happy I came home with a spots car!"
[it was a Miata GT. But I'm 6'2", and it got lower and smaller every year for the 9 years I drove it. It's currently waiting for me to replace the engine --probably with a 2.5 from a ford focus, the same thing as the Mazda 2.0, but ford builds it with heavier materials]
