Which Bonafide are you fitting in the back? I didn't anticipate my RS fitting in the back of mine very well and its on the smaller side of their lineup. I also have a Lure 10.5 and would be pumped if I can get both in without the rack!
RS117 -- I'll drag it out and toss it in the back if we get a day this week without rain and post a pic for you

Same as mine. Would rather avoid lifting that pig onto the racks, especially with the trolling motor attached. Would love to see how it fits. Thanks.

Longest kayak I have is 12" right now, and when I load them all up and haul my boat, my set up is usually 3 up on top--two 10ft on Jracks, and the 12 foot in between--and one sitting in my boat. Only do that whole setup about once a year though.

Btw, yesterday I did a quick test with some aluminum square tubing that I use for attaching a different trolling motor to the back of my older kayak, which mounts into t-rails on either side, and used those same bolts down into the rails of the top of my Thule racks, and they actually acted as a 1" riser on top of my bars. I put an 8ft board on top of those risers and cleared the top of the cab, off to the side. Gonna play with a slightly larger tube, and I think I could totally use this for over the cab lumber hauling, when needed as well. Will update with photos when I do.

Yeah, if those have t-track I could totally see just making a 1-2" spacer for that purpose! I'm coming from just regular square bars on my previous vehicle - didn't even think of that!

Yeah, funny thing is, I keep my RS117 on a rolling cart that was exactly the same height as my truck bed, so I would just roll that out to my truck, lock the wheels, then slide it right off into the truck bed. Do it all in reverse to store it back into the garage. Then I use the space underneath it for extra storage in the garage.

Sounds like a great setup.

Also, I love how these look like they were made for this truck--black and white match the color scheme perfectly. (Ha, just noticing my gas cap is open....must be something automatic that I haven't learned in the 48 hours of ownership.)
The scale is important, and perfect in those photos.

You got the rack and installed in two days?

I had only had the truck for two days when I purchased the rack. I picked it up at the rack place and installed it that afternoon, BUT in those first two days I hadn't learned how easy it was to accidentally pop open the gas cap cover with my gut :)

I really like the height of this rack. I live not far from Rack Attack and Rerack. My truck will have the drop in bed liner and rails from the Lux package. I would hope this rack’s hardware would still bolt up without any issues. If the Yakima ones do, I would think this one would.

Let us know if you end up trying--I hope they fit too!

We mentioned Yakima Overhaul HD, which is the 19” to 30” extendable, compatible with Truxedo Elevate TS Rails with a $140 adapter kit allegedly (which would then work with quite a few truxedo covers), but I’ve scraped the internet and can’t find a picture of one so far using the Overhaul with elevate rails… just the Retrax cover/rails.

There is also the similar Yakima Outpost HD which is 13” mid height like the OP’s Thule option, but hopefully the Outpost could have the same Elevate rail and cover compatibility + maybe use a t-track spacer on top to clear the roof for lumber?

This is another good rack thread

I think this is very similar to the Yakima rack that Ford is selling as part of their accessories, but that rack stands about 13" tall, where the Thule stands 16" tall. This hits right at the top of the back of the cab. To clear the top of the majority of the cab, you need a good 17-17.5", not counting the exact spot of the antenna. For me this works great because my J-racks for kayaks add another 1.5 inches in height, and the curve of the kayaks themselves gives and additional bit of clearance to get over that cab.

Also, I love how these look like they were made for this truck--black and white match the color scheme perfectly. (Ha, just noticing my gas cap is open....must be something automatic that I haven't learned in the 48 hours of ownership.)

Thanks for sharing this info. I purchased a set for my truck and am very happy with them so far.

Here is my ladder rack mated with two removable Yakima aerobars. It gives 9 feet of support and works well for hauling lumber and my 16 foot yak. The front bedrack needs to be 1" shorter than the rear to be flat with the roof rack. I like how the vertical supports mimic the contours of the cab.

The downside is they are steel and it may restrict what kind of tonneau would fit.

Love the setup. I've been looking at a rack for mine. Any idea if your model number is the 500011? Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to get mine out.
