Lariat is crazy talk, haha. It's a nicer vehicle for sure. We can't have nice things in this thread. It's either poverty edition or middle trim. Heck, I'm all in with an XLT Lux plus accessories for $35,000 spent this year. And for that I don't even have AWD or a phone holder. Makes me think the XL is the winner. More budget for customization. Most comments on this thread are saying XL for good reason.
No need to explain young man, I totally understand. Each model serves a purpose to each individual. Personally, I've never come around to the appearance look of the Walmart/Waffle House editions (XL & XLT). They just have too much of a budget rental look. I find the Lariat trim models (Lariat Hybrid, Lariat Tremor, Lariat Ecoboost) to have a classier and more upscale appearance. But again, to each their own. What matters is what each individual likes and wants.

A few hundred dollars and my XL doesn't look like a rental.

I ordered an XLT just because I wanted the Terrain paint...

I ordered XLT Lux for the heated steering wheel and seats. 6ish months of winter in NEOhio makes them a must-have for me. I also really like the XLT interior. I'm so over all the black/grey interiors in modern cars, especially economy cars. My Continental has the all blue/silver black label interior (rhapsody) and it is a delight to sit in every day, so I'm glad Ford had some fun with the maverick interior. Its proof that you can still do "cheap and cheerful" in car design. Only thing I don't like about the XLT is the wheels, I actually think the lariat wheels are quite good looking, and the steelies have a charm about them too. I'd take either option over the xlt wheels.

I mean, I went XLT+Lux because I live in Wisconsin and wanted heated seats. Might not have bothered otherwise.

But yeah, when I picked up my truck in February, I was definitely glad I went that way 😆
I also went XLT with Lux pkg. I love the xlt interior colot & seats, I never want all black again, too hot in summer. I too love the heated seats, as I have a bad back and also was pleasantly surprised by the heated steering wheel. I have to have remote start and cruise, just can't do without them after using for 25+yrs. The locking tailgate is great. Spray bedliner is awesome also. Hate CP360 I had it on last car, it just makes people lazy, use your head & mirrors people. I love my XLT and have no regrets.

+1 to living in Wisconsin and wanting heated seats (heated wheel is surprisingly nice too).

Did I read they're eliminating the remote start button from the key remote? I'm not sure that was even available on the XL, but that is also nice if you're nearby in cold weather vs. pulling up the app.
I read somewhere that car companies are going to start charging monthly fees to continue to utilize the remote start, just another thing to make the rich richer and the rest of us poorer with a gazillion monthly fees to live life!!!

I ordered the ‘23 XLT with LUX, 360, SIBL, Hard Rollup Tonneau, and Mud Guards. I love the idea of electronic adjustable seats and mirrors so my wife can change the setting if I allow her to drive Mervin.

I live in South East Arizona (15 miles from Mexico), but I will use the heated seats (and lumbar support) and steering wheel because I am spoiled. I look forward to remote tailgate locking, and the keypad on the B pillar. My dealer will tint all windows and add door edge guard tape.

I decided that I was going to order what I wanted, not necessarily what I needed.

I know. I could have ordered an XL and upgraded at time went by, but at my age, and with my current financial situation, I decided to get it up front.

I loved the XL option when the Mavi was introduced, but since my order, I really haven’t tracked the price difference, especially if I thought that I was going to spend another $2K or so on upgraded rims and tires, and then another who knows what adding the features that I missed out on.

And, I hate to admit it, but I LIKE the XLT interior color, especially in my Cactus Gray body (both the truck and my physical body color!).

(BTW, I avoided the Lariat simply because I DONT like the color of the fake leather.)
Me too! I figured this would probably be last vehicle I purchase, and plan to make it last. So the XLT has everything I need and probably more. I didn't want to regret not having features I've been used to over the years. I love the interior and the wheels and am so happy with my Maverick.

Right! I don’t like the baby poop interior on the Lariat, and while I like the larger tires, I don’t like the look of the larger rims.

I am SO excited to get my Cactus Gray XLT!

** I did find a thread that was very close to this post that answered a bit so thanks in advance for anyone who reads but I will always appreciate ideas of you still want to give them!!**

I've read and understand the differences between an XL versus XLT, but I am curious with there's anyone here who regrets getting an XL? I currently have an XLT on order but after some interesting conversations at home there are some things I wanted to add but since I'm already scheduled I couldn't. So I've been looking at placing a second order but choosing an XL this time because the

only things I really need are the 4K towing and the co-pilot. I'm not thrilled about how small the color choice became but the savings per month makes up for it. I think the loss of some other stuff seems worth it. Sure power locking tailgate would be nice but I don't know if I require it. And there's no more secure lock keypad so I'm not really missing that. A back seat drink holder isn't really something that I've ever needed before. I think the only thing that stood out is the XLT gets a perimeter alarm? And then the only other thing is that I would definitely want to change out the rims at some point, but I don't mind the steelies for now. I guess most of my question is about the interior at this point. I used to not like the black seats but they've kind of grown on me with the atlas blue exterior. But is there anything else that seems different or might be missing? Any thoughts or advice anyone has would be appreciated. Thank you!

Here’s the thing. Buy what you want! Though the XL is a great truck, I would not have been happy. I need (want) the extra features provided on the XLT, and am willing to pay for the LUX and 360 package. I want, I want, I want!

While I wanted several of the Lariat features, I did NOT want the ugly rims (even though larger would be nice) and I CERTAINLY did not want the Baby Poop colored interior! I would have done Lariat if it wasn’t for the “crappy” colored interior.

I would have considered the Black Accent Package except for two things: first, it wasn’t available when I ordered, and Second, I don’t want to sit on black pretend leather during the 100+ degrees in Arizona!

With 2024 pricing, it's really hard to justify anything but the XL imo. The Maverick is supposed to be an affordable vehicle. It doesn't take long to get into better quality vehicle's price range when you start adding options and increasing the trim levels of a Maverick.
