Has anyone gotten the modular bedliner from Ford accessories? When my truck is finally built and at the dealership, I have to decide what to do to protect the bed. Original plan is to get a SIBL done locally but I'm not sure anymore.

Hopefully I will be able to answer your question in the first person in a week. I'm scheduled to get the Ford Modular bed liner installed next week.

Various videos I looked at on YouTube people seemed to like it. Most of the videos were focused on installation but all of them I watched the people making the video were happy with fit and quality. If you order online you can also select a dealer and pay for installation. Which was only $60. So screw my spending half a day or more doing it myself LOL.

If you want a Ford bed liner our options are pretty much this. The one piece drop in- while a build option - is not offered for sale at Ford's accessories website. I probably would have purchased the one piece drop in if offered because it just seems like it would be more sturdy and waterproof. But Ford says the modular fits more closely to the contours of the bed.

I personally do not like spray in bed liners. The are rough on the knees and hands if crawling around in the bed and every Spray In I've seen that was say 5+ years old looked faded and just....tired. Meanwhile my 24 year old Ford Drop in bed liner in my F150 still looks pretty darn good. The plastic modular/drop ins also offer protection against dents and dings, while the spray ins are essentially just protection from scratches and rust. For those that prefer spray in's, that's cool!. Choices are good!!

I plan to use my Ford Pass points for one, as soon as truck and points arrive. I've watched a number of online videos, confident in my ability to do the install and, frankly, trust myself more than the dealer to take care with details like filing off rough edges after the pocket storage cut, putting the black tape in where indicated, etc. I'll also, based on what I've read/seen, be replacing the narrow strip of 3M tape along the very back piece with a wider strip of same.

I know all the SIBL vs DIBL arguments, but I've had DIBLs in every truck I've owned with zero issues. The SIBL looks nice....at first. Once it gets all scratched up and sun-aged, not so much. I also love the added bonus of the Maverick logo on the DIBL, an aftermarket SIBL won't give me that, either.

I look forward to reading your update, thanks for chiming in. Also, thanks for reminding me of the obvious, YouTube videos ad nauseum, for tips and tricks.

I've had two well-used Rangers, a 2003 and a 2001, both bought with many Maine winters to their credit. The 2003 had a Rhino liner, and the metal floor beneath it was mostly a memory when I got rid of it. The 2001 had a drop-in; it may have lost it's shiny patina but it was solid. Assuming these modular accessories will be available when my truck is a reality, I'm probably going to hold off to purchase until then.

Good article, I had a spray in liner before and the sun faded it. Plus the cost of the drop in liner is a lot less.

Try to find a Rhino liner installer. It is softer than Line-X but just as durable. They used it to coat tankers in Iraq and I have a cup made out of it (they literally just sprayed a Styrofoam cup) after I did a video package for the base newsreel on the guys doing the work. It has a lot more give than Line-X and I have never been able to purposefully damage it.

I just got the 9 piece (I think) modular, but was expecting the one piece dibl. Glad I got the modular cause it fits so well it almost looks like it was sprayed in.
Did you order the drop in bed liner from the factory and it came as a modular one ?

There isn't a one piece drop in liner for the Maverick. So, yes, even the factory one is multi-piece.

No, ordered from the dealership. My dealership sells Ford accessories with an A/Z plan discount and they installed the bed liner for free. Had to wait 2 months for the liner though, when it was available at other dealerships, but I wasn't in a huge hurry and lined the bed with cloth/rubber auto floor mats the couple of times I transported anything in the bed to avoid scraches. I've got to admit, I was not diligent regarding the details on maverick options and accessories and was surprised a couple of times ( e.g. ordered and assumed the full sized spare tire was actually the same size as tires on the truck, etc.). I'll be looking very closely at any accessories I buy in the future (I. e., looking for a tonneau cover now).

Another example, it's commonly referred to as a dibl for the maverick. This time my lack of knowledge worked out better for me😉

Doesn't this require cut outs for the bed cubbys and tie down points? I wonder if the dealer will include those modifications for only $60.
