So true, especially exiting the interstate to get gas.My sister had a boyfriend in the Navy who drove frequently from California to the Navy Information Operations Command in Aurora, Colorado.
He shoehorned a Ford 427 into his British 2 seater to make for a faster commute.
At the time, there were no Colorado speed limits either at the time according to him.
After doing 150, when you slow down to 75 it feels like you can walk along at the same speed...
Misjudging your speed as you get onto the 25-35mph exit ramp, sometimes will result in a few Oh Shit moments.
On a side note.
I always had a soft spot for Ford's 289 V8.
If I had a desire for a replica Ford Shelby Cobra. I'd prefer a 289 in such a light car. I liked the 340ci in the Cuda or Challenger versus the big block 383ci or 440ci. Those Big Blocks made the car two nose heavy for me.
