Our EV is a 2023 Hyundai Ionic 6 AWD. we purchased it last year....New on the lot. Because the infrastructure bill gave owners of US made EVs a tax rebate of $7500, Hyundai added a $7500 discount since the car was not US made, and they realized that they would not be selling a lot of EVs in USA. Because the car was a new 2023 on the lot in mid 2024, the dealer gave us an additional $6500 discount. If a year ago you said I would be an EV owner, I would have said you were crazy. The car is scary fast. My wife drives it. It has too much interior tech for me. I drive the Maverick XL Hybrid. It is just the right amount of tech for me. But I guess, now according to some of our members I am now a Traitor! Regardless, I am a proud American who has always been politically involved and always votes.

We are at the brink of going bankrupt with $36+ Trillion in debt. The past is past. Both parties contributed to the debt. However, now, we finally have an administration willing to take drastic measures in an attempt to tackle this crisis. If it doesn't work, then we find other solutions. We just can't go back to how the past 4 years was ran. And we must support the current administration and hope it succeeds. For everyone's sake.

It's impossible for what President Trump presented yesterday to stick; literally impossible. People are already stretched to the brink, where is the average person going to come up with another potential 20% or more cost of living increase, on the promise that there may be a few good paying manufacturing jobs reshored? It's just more chaos cronyism that benefits a few while 50 years of slow decline accelerates to a sprint into anarchy if you asked me.

On the plus side, I guess a lot of vehicles that have piled up in dealer lots will be getting sold while people scramble to secure a vehicle before life gets a lot more expensive again.

At least he is someone with money management experience! Few people have been through 6 bankruptcies.

Most people I know (that are financially savvy) feel we all had better watch every penny spent, since the future financially look bleak.

We have data of Trump's first term where tariffs invigorated the steel/material industry, created thousands of jobs, and was part of the reason our economy was flourishing with historically low interest rates across the board. Then... COVID happened.

I, along with many of you on here, flourished during his first 3 years. My 2nd home was attainable then financially, but compared to now, absolutely not.

Regarding Tariffs proven to have caused recessions and economic downfalls. One simple question to you all - if tariffs are so bad, then why do over 100s countries implement tariffs on Americans? Look at the long list that the White House published on the % of tariffs implemented on Americans compared to what we charge them. Is it fair? I am not going to sit here and pretend I am an economist, but I do know that just by looking at the numbers and %, we have been treated unfairly.

For the many who do not agree, please provide some insights on how we solve our current economic problems. Are you telling me we should revert back to what the previous administration did, just continue on and hope things get ironed out?
Having been born and raised in the Bay Area of CA over 40 years ago. First generation American Citizen. I knew what the Democratic Party stood for back then. Boy, has the party gone extreme. I did not leave the Democratic party., The Democratic party left me. CA has turned to $h!*, is broke, and don't get me started on immigration, and I come from a family of immigrants.

What did I read earlier - "Brainwashed" and "Daddy syndrome" or whatever... Okay kid, like my personal experience with your party hasn't guided me to where I lean now.

To everyone on here. This thread is a perfect example of how divisive one side gets. And it is easy to see which side it is.
