I still have not received my Sept 2021 Lariat Lux Hybrid. I was driving a 2022 Ford Escape Hybrid till I saw a local dealer had an LTD Eco on his lot. At 9:30 in the morning I went over to look at the Eco. My salesman told me they just had an LTD hybrid off loaded from the truck-0:830(Lux, spray in liner, mud flaps, rear window, tow hitch, moon roof, no fancy radio). It had 6 miles on the odometer and came from Mexico. Yes, they added $5000 to the price, but they gave me a good price on my hybrid Escape, so I drove off in a 2023 Hybrid LTD. This vehicle was not ordered by a customer.

What color was the window sticker? Blue or Green?

At my local dealership many employees and family have ordered Mavericks, not for themselves but for the dealer to resell as "used" vehicles. Keeps Ford off their back while still getting that big profit. My thought was, what was this employees gain in telling me this?

Let me tell you. I'm 80, retired, hate the computer world, and I'm always mixing up model numbers/letters. How about LTX??? LTD was a Ford model in the 1970's

Where did you hear this? Last I heard was the Ford was making EB models avaible as stock orders for dealers due to the dealerships demands for stock units. My dealer was selling stock units (blue window sticker).

I heard it from the Long MacArthur live stream on YouTube.

Happy to say ours is due to arrive any day now. I've got to say it does come off as odd that you initially seemed mad about the wait time for a vehicle that wasn't going to suit your needs in the first place. Sounds like the wait did ya a favor and gave you time to come to that realization.

It sure seems dumb to me to order a truck that won't do the work needed. Unless he was looking to make a quick buck flipping it. It's not so quick, is it. Talk about showing ones behind. LOL

That's what i was trying to say. He would not sell you one just like you ordered for MSRP that you would get on your order, but wanted YOU to pay $5K over. Would make more sense for dealers to honor price on same vehicle, then mark up the one that was originally ordered. Sad day in Ford Dealer Land.

Dealers are in business to make a profit and are subject to market pressures. While it's probably more common to see these vehicles sold above MSRP, keep in mind it also goes the other way for most other vehicles.

I don't understand how someone could make such a large purchase and not even understand what they actually purchased. What's an LTD? This reminds me of the person who insisted that they purchased an abandoned order that was special ordered with AWD on a hybrid and justified the markup they paid only to find out that they purchased a regular FWD hybrid.
