Sold my Lightning extended range lariat and ordered my 3rd Maverick.

Excited it went into production earlier than scheduled.

New Mav: 25 AWD Hybrid Lariat (all options) metallic ruby red (or whatever it’s called).

Prior Mavs: 1st Gen.

• one an EcoBoost I found at msrp on a lot, XLT FX4. Hot pepper red. Sold it above MSRP AFTER (crazy times) I drove it for about 8 months while awaiting…

• …a FWD hybrid XLT custom order, velocity blue, added sunroof and slide rear window, spray liner. MSRP was just over $27K 😭

Edit: why didn’t I trade the Lightning? It was a 2023 and if you know the EV market, its used value was dropping like a brick. I had traded in mentioned blue Maverick that was paid off plus some cash down and with state/fed/ford incentives at the time had just over $30K equity in it I was losing pretty quick. I wanted this very specific Maverick build so I think I would have lost more $ WAITING to trade it in, calculating market value, trade-in-value, etc. vs. saving a few grand offsetting the sales tax

Congrats. I sold a Polestar 2 EV to buy my (1st) Maverick for exactly the same reason as you. The Polestar was depreciating faster than I could make make payments on it. I figured I’d pull the rip cord, save some $$$ and jump into something that’s more useful for my needs. I’ve owned six other pickups over the years — Ford’s and Nissan’s — and I couldn’t be happier to be back in a truck. First Ford I’ve owned in nearly 20 years and it’s terrific — 2025 Maverick XLT with the luxury, 4K tow, FX4 and Co-Pilot packages. Velocity Blue FTW! This forum is just the added bonus to Maverick ownership!

Better talk to your tax rep. Part of your fed/state rebate is a stipulation to keep the vehicle for at least 3 years. Might have to pay back the prorated rebate.

I know I’ve been on the MTC too long when the baby in your picture is probably in high school now!

This is not true at the federal level whatsoever. As long as you are at or below the income requirements, and the vehicle qualifies, you can file for 2 new EV credits per year. At tax time they may ask (can't recall) if you kept it for more than 30 days but I have no idea where you got 36 months?

Been there, done this more than once. OP is absolutely fine at the federal level. Not a CO resident so I can't speak to his state rules.

Am on number 2 sold my 22 FX4 XLT Loaded for a 25-lariat Hybrid loaded, It takes a while getting used to the Hybrid never owned one and the 13" screen but you're going to love it, I hope you got the black-out package the 19" wheels make the truck. Good luck with it.

Wow, your order to production date was a lot better than mine, is there some kind of lottery to these Maverick orders. I ordered mine on 4/24/25 and my production week is scheduled for 8/11/25. My dealer says not to expect delivery until October.
