I want to go to my dealership and get the software updates done that were just discussed today to prevent the issue with mavericks randomly dying, but I'm worried those software updates will cause other issues, which seems to be the case with some owners.

I don't want to get rid of a truck that's been great to us. But at the same time, I'm tired of stressing over all the could happens. What would you do if you were me? Keep it, sell it, wait to see if it has issues?

Keep the truck 4-5 years make the call again around there , unless you got money burning a hole in your pocket .
1/2 of percent of owners if your lucky have seen anything to do with the forums and only 1/2 of us have done any serious complaining and half of that is usually dealer , not manufacturer related ……so…..

Have your brother give/prescriptions for med's, there are some good ones for that.

most other vehicles are just transportation, Maverick trucks are special and you obviously love it which is why you are concerned. Put the negative posts aside and just drive it and enjoy it. If it blows up, then you get to buy a new one!!

All manufacturers have issues with their vehicles. Some worse than others. I have owned Fords for over 30 years and they have always been reliable and servicing has been exceptional. Hang in there. It’s not a problem just because you worry about it.

The problem isn't the truck. Getting rid of it may merely force you to obsess over something else...and there's always something else. I'd be looking at help with the condition itself and see if you can damp it down to a level that you can manage.
I became a very light sleeper after an attempted break-in at my place some decades ago. I'd wake up when I heard anything out of the ordinary, and it took years before I could get through the night without jumping out of bed at a cat's sneeze...

At first I ordered hybrid Maverick. And changed to a Ecoboost, once I found out my camper would be too heavy for it. If they would have had a 4K hybrid I would have gotten it and wouldn't look back. I'm very happy with my Maverick even with the recalls. Hopefully the brake light recall will be the last. I say enjoy it, let it run for as long as it can.
