Don't dispare.....on 10/14 my two XL Hybrids finally got scheduled for production in December 6th. Ordered June 11th.
LCuster is hitting close to home. I also ordered my Maverick on June 11, and have heard no production info. BUT, I received a nice email from Ford last week, which included the FIT kit that they will give me because I am a new owner. AT LEAST I KNOW THAT FORD KNOWS THAT I AM ALIVE.

Wonder how the steel wheels painted black with trim rings would look?

Yea I went the xl route and I like the interior better plus I bought the new bronco rims carbon grey with 100 miles on the tires for $400.00 so I'm more than happy they should look great with the iconic silver and a tonneau cover
Like to see a shot of your iconic silver over carbon grey wheels please.

i ordered an XL, 2.0, FWD

love me some steel wheels, and rarely use cruise control. also do not like the multi color interior of the XLT
Placed my order today for the same build as yours in Carbonized Gray. Surprised myself and got the 2.0 instead of the hybrid.

Congratulations on the order. I hope it doesn't take too long to get built. Generally, it seems that the 2.0 Ecoboosts are being built more quickly. For me, it had to be the hybrid, and in fact the hybrid engine at such a low price was what sold me on the Maverick, though it has a lot of other appealing features for a hobby farmer like myself.

I'm curious, if you don't mind. What convinced you to take the Ecoboost rather than the hybrid?

I had every intention of buying this as a hybrid because I'd be schlepping back and forth to work 5 days a week in this, and hitting the open road with it twice a month or so to go camping. Ultimately, was my husband who convinced me to change engines. He has an F150 with the 2.7L Ecoboost, and his has been a trouble-free truck for us for the four years we've owned it, and we bought it used with 23K miles. This will be my first truck, and first Ford (I'm a Honda person, but bored to death, hence the reason I'm here...) so it's either going to be a love/hate relationship changing from a hatchback/sedan driver to a lepton-sized pickup, or I'm never going to look back.

My only self-doubt at this point is...should I have gone Toyota Tacoma 2.7L 4 cylinder double cab or did I choose wisely with the Maverick?

Raise your hand if you're just a "wee" bit nervous of this being a first-year truck.

In spite of their missteps in implementing this design, and poor understanding of the demand and likely audience for the Maverick, I'm not too worried about it being the first year. Even the hybrid power train is not really new, it's almost the same as the one that has been used in the Eclipse. The Maverick is built of proven concepts and designs, just a new combination of elements.

Myself, I'm more interested in fuel efficiency and reduced air pollution than in how many seconds it takes to go from zero to 60 mph, so I expect it's going to be fine for my needs. If they come up with a plug-in or all electric version in the future, then I might be ready to trade up to that.

I feel so lucky, and very grateful that my XL got delivered. Ordered on 8/10 , delivered on 10/29. Thier build order feels like they are literally throwing darts as to who gets built.

Ordered today and was told 12-16 weeks. Had I ordered a hybrid today it would have been closer to May/June.

Right. I ordered the XL hybrid in August and was told no earlier than New Year probably. Now it looks like it will be March.

Glad i stumbled onto this. Was looking at an XLT but with knee and hip issues I’ll need cruise control. I’ve driven cross country without it in my early 20s and it still sucked.

Note: the XL does NOT offer cruise control. You do want an XLT (or Lariat) if you require that. So far, there is no way to add cruise control to the XL.
