Just got over the sticker shock from getting The Works completed at a local dealership. $89 a year ago. Now $150. The other sticker shock is $93 to replace the air filter. They would have charged me $35 just to put it in if I had supplied it. Bought a K&N lifetime filter for $50 and put in in myself; took 5 minutes.

IMO, that's just insanity. Just had mine changed a few weeks ago at the local shop I've used for many many years with Castrol Full Synthetic $71.45

Just had mine done by Mobile Service on Monday. Yes, this is at least $5 more than in the past. Had a $25 off coupon, used some Rewards points, and got it just under $50. Still need to apply for the $20 Works rebate currently in effect.

Exactly, these oil changes called "The Works" are outrageously HIGH.

What is this price for oil change you speak of?

My dealership has engine for life warranty for free. All oil changes and tire rotations are free for the duration of ownership. No time or milage limits. Well worth the free price tag at purchase in Oct '22. I have 83,000 on the truck and have had 16 oil changes for free.

Wow, that's how it used to be. But my Dealership where I bought my Maverick didn't offer any free oil changes, in fact, they are outrageously high.

As you note, yours's is through a dealership and not all of them offer this perk.

Got the works yesterday - it was $101 here including taxes and fees. Included tire rotation and multi-point inspection. 5W30 Synthetic blend. And a free sales pitch to try to get me to buy all kinds of other services including air and cabin filters and cleaning out the intake.

i picked up both filters on the way home and swapped them out myself. I'm looking into cleaning the intake to remove carbon from the valves, since I understand that this is a direct injection engine (I think, will read up on it) and is prone to carbon fouling.

So the price increase hasn't hit Ohio yet. Or, might want me to keep wandering out in the yard looking at Rangers while they take care of Sasquatch.
