A year ago it was interesting to spot a mav in the wild.

Today you are talking about a low end, mass market vehicle that is getting ever more ubiquitous.

Nobody cares anymore.

This definitely depends on your location. I'm in the Wilmington, DE area and I've been looking for Mavs in the wild here even before I placed my order last September. The first Mav in the wild that I've seen was a few days after taking delivery. I waved, but I don't think the other driver saw me because he was making a left (from oncoming traffic) in front of me, so was probably being a responsible driver and watching where he was going and for moving vehicles, instead of gawking at stopped traffic.

All you guys complaining about being "invisible" should have bought a Cyber Orange Maverick... I get waves from drivers of other Mavericks, kids in the back seats of SUVs and sedans, and even the panhandlers at intersections... (Though that last one might not count - they are waving at everyone!)

I wave to other Mavs but 90% seem not care. There are a lot of them in my work area.

I wave some dont respond some do. screw them if they dont want to be friendly.

Okay... years ago when I had a VW Karman Ghia convertible, all/any person with a convertible with its roof down would stick their hand up and wave as no other form of transport could. It did not matter what brand you drove, and it was cool. then with motorcycles, others would do the "low" wave, but I noticed H-D drivers would not to us rice-grinder operators, but they did not know I had owned 4 Harleys and got tired of "wrenching". Now at my advanced age I usually only wave at other owners of Porsche's... that is until recently when I saw an approaching Macan P-car, I drive a Boxster S P-car. I continued on and pulled into a gas station and a couple minutes later, some dimwit approached me and said, "Why'd you wave at me?", I replied, "I waved at you?", "When?", He says, just now, a couple blocks back!" I went on to tell him I was waving at the P-car not the douche driving it who obviously does not recognize what brand of car he is in nor a similarly branded car. "Sorry for the misunderstanding douche., have a nice life." Not my finest hour but he turned his SUV around and tracked down the 6'2", 250 Lbs. "anyone" to confront them at a fuel pump, because he waved? Who does this, in this day and age?

Wife says no more waves! She’s put up with 24 hour maverick for 365 days and she thinks that is about enough. But honey, it’s an alto blue hybrid xl! It’s an Area 51 like mine right in front of us. She has been a real trooper during this whole process. Her: “Just drive the damn thing and enjoy it”

Gotta defer to the motorcycle wave I think. I only rode for a few years, but you're putting your life on the line. The bike wave is real.

With the Maverick it's tough. You don't know who's MTC. Recently, a Mav parked right next to me at the water park. Didn't even have time for a nod on the way out. We were both buckling in kids and busy.

However, if you meet a MTC member in person to trade goods, definitely a good handshake and conversation are in order.

I don’t think they care about theirs, let alone mine.

I got mine in June. Haven’t washed it yet. Inside is just as bad. Dog hair and drool everywhere. Dog crates in the bed are the cleanest part.
