This form of behavior is common among Jeep enthusiasts, try waving at them from your Maverick and see what happens.
Yea, but I do not want any damm little duckies on my dash

I got my Maverick in January of 2022. Weren't very many on the road back then, so it was kind of a big deal for me to run into another one. First time we both honked, waved, and grinned as though we were in some sort of conspiracy but didn't mind the rest of the world hearing about it.

Yesterday, I turned down my short street and spotted a brand new white XLT hybrid parked in front of the neighbor. What? Two Mavericks on my street? Cool. Turns out it belonged to a worker. We talked. He's thrilled with the truck having traded in his 9 mpg 2011 F-150. It was a fun conversation and he's anxious to join the MTC.

Here's the 'yang' to that 'ying': Later in the day found myself behind a white Lariat hybrid at a left turn signal. Turned out his destination was the same as mine, a restaurant. I parked one stall over, got out and gave him and his wife a thumbs up. They both looked at me as if I was from another planet . . . clueless. I went into the restaurant and joined my party. He came in a minute later. I said to him, "Nice truck", thinking he had seen my Maverick. After all, how could he have missed it. I followed him for a mile to the restaurant. He mumbled a barely decipherable "Thank you". I said, "Mine's the blue one just outside". He turned to look, shrugged his shoulders and went on his way as if I didn't exist. Registered himself as an Adam Henry in my book.

We're pioneers. We're proving not everyone needs to have a pickup the size of an Abrams tank. Maybe I'm a bit naive, but I like to think of Maverick owners as a brotherhood of sorts.
I have had my share of both types of experiences, so I feel you there. But most of my experiences have been more like the former. That said, I'd like to think we're a brotherhood too, brother. Lol And I'd like to think those Maverick owners who don't align with that are more like step-brothers. 🤣 Step-brothers who deserve a couple of purple nurples or an Indian burn or two. At least a wet willy. Definitely, a wet willy.

I actually saw an XL in my "neighborhood" today. Kinda shocked. I wanted to flip the fog lights on and off to say "hey, I'm a Maverick too!" but oh... we don't have those... We'll, from the factory anyways... And going from DRL's to low beams looks goofy like I'm trying to flag you down or something and I'm pretty sure there is a delay swapping back and forth because of the auto setting that would shift back to DRL... anyways...

If I do anything, it's the lift of the fingers while my hands are on the wheel... ya know, like when on a dirt road in rural Montana... everyone feels the need to do that. And if you miss it, especially if you know someone that is doing it, and they wave but you don't, it's like denying a friend request on FB lol but not intentional (sometimes). Like, "Oh, that was Don" and he waved but you were too late. Now Don is sitting in his truck going "wtf is Montana's problem? No waving mfer... see if I ever wave again."

Then next time you see Don, you wave and he doesn't. Thus ending the cycle for good. Every time after, nobody waves. It's just a blank stare. :ROFLMAO:

Man...fog lights are MOST definitely on my list!

I actually had a guy hawk me down from about a half mile away today (in an Atlas Blue Maverick) and then ride along side of me for a few hundred feet-only to give me a goofy smile once he could see me through my tint. I gave him the shaka 🤙, he smiled the BIGGEST smile and sped off. I loved it. Lmao
