Picking my Maverick XL up next week. Helman Ford here was awesome too, they took pictures when it arrived and picture of the mileage upon arrival. They did inspection and prep. The deal went smooth.
i had a good experience with Helfman too, but i ordered direct from them.

Picking my Maverick XL up next week. She's here at the dealership in Houston where it was courtesy dropped. I ordered it from Ed at Chapman Ford in Philadelphia for 4% under invoice. They were great to deal with, not one upsell, mark-up or ADM. Price was the price I was quoted at ordering. Took 69 days from ordering date to delivery date. Did have to wait 10 days for funds and paperwork to go back and forth in old fashion US Mail. But I saved about $1K off truck. Helman Ford here was awesome too, they took pictures when it arrived and picture of the mileage upon arrival. They did inspection and prep. The deal went smooth.

Probably not. I live north of Houston in New Caney. Yeah, Area 51 seems to be the most popular color, I like it. I also have a Lariat in Hot Pepper Red ordered from Tim at Long McArthur. But I ordered it on the last day of ordering, so not sure I will get it or not.

Yes, Helfman people are awesome. I live north of Houston and every dealer I approached around here seemed sketchy. Demontrond Ford promised TT&L only no mark-ups on orders, I went to order and filled out paperwork, low and behold my $23K Maverick with TT&L came to $30K. I tore up the contract on salesperson's desk and walked out. Planet Ford salesperson said they cannot give final price until truck arrives (obvious set-up for mark-ups). Tomball Ford said I had to buy a GPS Tracker forget how much but told it's non-negotiable. Friendly Ford would not sign anything with final price.

So, with the help of this site, Reddit and FB I went with Ed at Chapman. Couldn't be happier.

Funny I also have a hot pepper lariat on order
My dad ordered one too but it was the week before the cut off (mine was ordered in November)

The Bobby M I know would have mentioned he ordered a Maverick I would have thought

I delt with Jay Munoz at Gullo Ford in Conroe. He was great and there was no markup.
Yes, after I ordered from Chapman, I did more research and the only two dealers in the Houston area that were MSRP only were Gullo and Helfman. Just stay away from Demontrond they are dishonest.

Gullo Ford, Conroe - Josh McKee and Brett Rodriguez - MSRP, straight and forward on a Hybrid Lariat.

I've noticed in reading through several threads that there are a bunch of us Texans who have either ordered a Maverick or are about to. I thought it would be interesting if all Texans would list their location (city or town), the dealer they are working with, what build they have already ordered or have in mind, and anything else that might be interesting or helpful to fellow Texans. I think good dealer experience would be helpful to others as well as dealers you would not recommend. Not sure if this is allowed in the forum rules to talk bad about specific dealers but we'll soon find out!

I live in a golf course community known as Holly Lake Ranch. It is a very pretty place nestled in the Piney Woods of east Texas, roughly half way between Shreveport, LA. and Dallas, Texas. All the dealers around here are small, country mom and pop businesses. If you go to the "city" such as Longview or Tyler, there are a few bigger dealerships but I have found them to be no better than our more rural "locals". I ordered my Lariat from Texas Country Ford, Winnsboro, Tx. Once they got the hang of the Maverick ordering system they did very well and I have received confirmation from Ford that my order has been accepted. I have already recommended them to several forum members here in Texas looking to order a Maverick.

Another reason for my starting this thread is that I recall my early days at the Honda Ridgeline forum about 15 years ago where threads like this were started in various states. We Ridgeline owners would often get together for lunches and compare and show off our Ridgelines, mods and accessories. We all learned a great deal from each other. We would also go to car shows and do various other things as a group and the Ridgeline caravan was quite impressive. It was a good time and some of us even went on hunting trips together and shared other interests. Maybe something social like this can happen down the road with Texas Maverick owners. Anyway, Texas Mavericks is a cool name (not only for the basketball team) and deserves a thread of its own - so here it is Texas!!!
I live in Valley View Texas I ordered Mine from Stanley Ford in Pilot Point Texas From Harry David

I have a couple of Mavericks ordered from Planet Ford, but was also on a call list for Gullo Ford, Conroe. They called me and offered a Lariat Hybrid Base Package that was refused by the customer who ordered it. I bought it on the spot! I thought that they would add a dealer markup of $2-5k to the MSRP. I was prepared to negotiate. After I saw it, I said "ok, how much?" The rep said MSRP, $27,915, plus the dealer add-ons: wheel lock and tint, $529. I could not write the check fast enough. Yeah, they made about $400 on the tint and locks, and maybe $400 on the truck. I thought that was very fair, because I am now driving a Maverick Lariat, and love it! Have logged 2000 miles; so far, so good. I recommend Josh McKee, Gullo Ford, Conroe, TX.

I do not recommend the Viva Auto Group in El Paso. They are adding large ADM to pretty much any new vehicle they receive. they told me it's 30K ADM for a Bronco?!

Noticed briantoliverford.net has two Mavericks in stock, probably at the Sulfur Springs Texas store. Both appear to be XLs with 2.0 Ecoboost, but I'm not sure how they are equipped, because the heading and descriptions are somewhat convoluted showing XLT in the heading and hybrid in the description. Both appear to be $4000 over MSRP and the sell price is shown as $28,940. None-the-less, I was surprised at the number of Mavericks in stock around me. At least you can find one for sale, even if it is at a premium. The vin #'s are:
  • 3FTTW8E98NRA41856
  • 3FTTW8E97NRA41895
I tried to look up a value for my Maverick XL at Carvanna, Car Max, etc. and got a message saying the Maverick is too new to value. But, CarGurus did show several values for my Maverick XL. I paid MSRP at 24,275. It is a Velocity Blue XL with 2.0 Ecoboost, Co-Pilot 360, Moonroof, trailer hitch, 120V outlet. I added a spray in bed liner, Ford's soft roll-up tonneau, hood/bug protector, and VSS security-remote start which are not included in CarGurus pricing.

For my Vin, Car Gurus show an Instant Market Value of $34,081 (retail?), Private Sale Value of $32,448, and Trade In Value of $25,708. The trade in value sure seems like an anomaly based on the Instant Market Value and Private Sale Value, but who knows. Finally, the selling price Based on Great Deal price (which could be anything) at $30,117. So, these differing values tell me one thing: Pricing on the hot little truck is dependent on your negotiation skills and not much else.

I ordered mine from Cavender Grande Ford in San Antonio on 7/15. I received the emails from Ford pertaining to production and build date, and I received mine 2/24. The process was easy, professional, and straightforward. I paid MSRP with no dealer markup. I ordered the EcoBoost AWD, Lariat Lux pkg, 4k tow, and 1st Ed. Packages, in Area 51. I opted for all of the safety features, a full sized spare, and wheel locks. I love the adaptive cruise and lane keeping assist features. The truck meets all of my expectations and I’m so happy to have found this club.
