What? Let’s talk when you all actually get your Mavs. It needed more force than I was willing to use on my brand new truck. All is well now and my seats are covered. My 4 year old can cookie crumb his heart out.
Well, Sir, I do have my Maverick, and it came with a manual. I’m curious why a lot of people come to the internet for answers they can find in the book included with the truck. No offense to you personally.

So, total non issue?
B.S. This is poor design and execution. To need to slam a back seat so a LATCH can engage on a 2022 vehicle is unacceptable.

There's a lot of good things about this vehicle, but let's not overlook very clear issues.

So, one guy has a tight latch which isn't actually broken? Get the torches and pitchforks!

Read a book when I can ask the almighty internet? Never! I’m just trying to keep my “well known member” status on the forum!🤣

Noticed that the cloth of the back would sometimes flap back over the mechanism in the back when flipping the it up. Cut that flap off neatly and have been able to latch easily every time since.

Again, simply wrong.

I have the same issue and the Lariat I test drove a month ago has the same issue as well. Poor design is poor design. There is no reason to defend it. There is no reason to tell people to read a manual so they can understand how to latch a seat. If anyone on this forum or the manual has to explain how to operate a simple latch, just burn it to the ground and start over. It's like saying I should read the manual to learn how to operate the volume knob.

So people shouldn't read their manuals for something that is directly addressed in it? You're just way off base here and massively over reacting. At worst, call the dealer. These things can be adjusted.

Let me crack my manual to learn how to operate a latch...because Ford cares so little about their customers that they can't be tasked with putting one in there that works without issues.

And I did read the manual. The only thing I haven't tried is slamming it because that seemed moronic. As it stands, it's clear that this is the "fix".

Again, I don't understand why you have the need to defend poor design. Why defend Ford on this issue on a 2022 vehicle?

Mine has the same issue. Regardless of which side you attempt to latch it from, or where you push, or how you hold the latch, the only thing that works is slamming it way harder than you'd expect. Once the rain breaks, I'll look at the latch more to tweak or lubricate, but it definitely is not working properly.

Only if you are having a problem with the volume knob.

I'll just slam the volume knob now that I know that's what I should expect. 😆

Tried slamming my back seat and nada. Oh well. Will take it in at some point.

I genuinely hope your dealer can adjust the latch. But if that's your biggest issue today be thankful.

The catalytic converter got cut from my old Accord, so not the biggest thing. I'll live though. 😆
